MOA (Memorandum of Association) Apostille and Attestation
Notarisation, Chamber of Commerce, MEA apostille and embassy attestation for the Memorandum of Association (MOA) of Indian companies, for subsidiaries, registrations, bank accounts and tenders abroad.

MOA apostille: quick answer
MOA apostille is the stamp the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) puts on your Indian MOA so that it is accepted in Hague Convention countries. Before the MEA stage, commercial documents must be authenticated by a recognised Chamber of Commerce; the MEA then fixes the apostille for a government fee of ₹50 per document.
For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries the apostille is not accepted. There you need MOA attestation: Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation and then the embassy stamp.

Why an MOA needs apostille or attestation
The Memorandum of Association is the company’s charter. It states the company’s name, registered office, objects (what the company is allowed to do), liability and share capital. Foreign authorities read it to check that an Indian company is legally permitted to carry out the business it proposes abroad.
That is why company registrars, free zones, banks and procurement agencies abroad ask for a legalised MOA, usually with the certificate of incorporation, AOA and a board resolution. The certified copy is notarised and attested by a Chamber of Commerce, then apostilled by the MEA or attested by the MEA and the embassy, depending on the country.
Subsidiary or branch
Registration of a company or branch abroad.
Objects clause
Proof that the activity is within the company’s objects.
Trade licences
Free zones and licensing authorities abroad.
Tenders
Company constitution documents for bids.

Tips before sending your MOA
- Use the latest MOA including all amendments; foreign registrars check the current name and capital.
- If the activity abroad is not clearly covered by the objects clause, check with your company secretary before legalising.
- MOA, AOA and certificate of incorporation are usually asked for together; legalise them in one file.

FAQs: MOA apostille and attestation
How do I get a MOA apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
Send us the original MOA. We arrange Chamber of Commerce attestation in New Delhi and then the MEA apostille, and the stamped document comes back by tracked courier.
What are the charges for MOA apostille?
The cost has three parts: the MEA’s ₹50 government fee per document, the Chamber of Commerce fee and our service charge. Courier both ways is separate. You get one written quote covering all of it.
What is the difference between the MOA and the AOA?
The MOA is the company’s charter: name, objects, liability and capital. The AOA sets out the internal rules: directors, meetings, signing powers. Foreign authorities often ask for both.
What documents are required for MOA attestation?
Usually the original MOA, a company authorisation letter and a copy of the signatory’s passport or ID. For exporters, the buyer’s country and any instructions from the buyer or bank help us choose the right route.
What is the process for MOA attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
For these non-Hague countries the MOA is attested by the Chamber of Commerce, then by the MEA, and finally legalised by the embassy of the destination country. For the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds a final stamp inside the UAE.
Can a copy of the MOA downloaded from the MCA portal be apostilled?
A copy that is properly certified, either by the company’s director or secretary or as a certified copy from the MCA, can be notarised, attested by the chamber and then apostilled or attested.
How long does MOA apostille take?
It depends on the Chamber of Commerce, the MEA and, for attestation, the embassy. We confirm an expected completion date in your written quote and update you on WhatsApp at every stage.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my MOA need?
It depends on the country where the MOA will be used. Hague Convention countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Italy, the UK and Australia, accept the MEA apostille. The UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China need MEA attestation followed by embassy legalisation.
Do UAE free zones need the MOA attested?
Generally yes for company or branch registration: Chamber of Commerce and MEA attestation, UAE embassy legalisation and then the UAE ministry stamp.
