AOA (Articles of Association) Apostille and Attestation
Chamber of Commerce, MEA apostille and embassy attestation for the Articles of Association (AOA) of Indian companies, when banks, registrars or partners abroad need to see who can sign and decide for the company.

AOA apostille: quick answer
AOA apostille is the stamp the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) puts on your Indian AOA so that it is accepted in Hague Convention countries. Before the MEA stage, commercial documents must be authenticated by a recognised Chamber of Commerce; the MEA then fixes the apostille for a government fee of ₹50 per document.
For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries the apostille is not accepted. There you need AOA attestation: Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation and then the embassy stamp.
INFINITYGRO handles Articles of association apostille for exporters, companies and individuals across India by courier. Send a WhatsApp photo of the AOA and the destination country, and you get the route and a written quote before anything is sent.
Why an AOA needs apostille or attestation
The Articles of Association are the company’s internal rulebook: how directors are appointed, how meetings and votes work, how shares are transferred and who can sign on the company’s behalf. When a foreign bank opens an account, or a partner signs a joint venture, they read the AOA to confirm that the people acting for the company have the power to do so.
Because it is used as legal proof of authority, the AOA is normally legalised with the MOA and the board resolution that appoints the signatory. It is notarised and attested by a Chamber of Commerce, then apostilled by the MEA or attested by the MEA and the embassy for non-Hague countries.

Tips before sending your AOA
- Use the AOA as last amended; banks compare it with recent board resolutions.
- Highlight or note the article dealing with signing powers if the bank asks about authority; it speeds up their review.
- Legalise the AOA, MOA and board resolution together so the documents match.

FAQs: AOA apostille and attestation
How do I get a AOA apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
Send us the original AOA. We arrange Chamber of Commerce attestation in New Delhi and then the MEA apostille, and the stamped document comes back by tracked courier.
What are the charges for AOA apostille?
The cost has three parts: the MEA’s ₹50 government fee per document, the Chamber of Commerce fee and our service charge. Courier both ways is separate. You get one written quote covering all of it.
Why does a foreign bank want our AOA?
Banks use the AOA to confirm how the company is governed and who has authority to sign; with a board resolution it proves that the person opening the account is authorised.
What documents are required for AOA attestation?
The original AOA, signed and stamped by the company or issuing authority, an authorisation letter on company letterhead (we send the format) and an ID copy of the signatory. Tell us the destination country, because the route depends on it.
What is the process for AOA attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
For these non-Hague countries the AOA is attested by the Chamber of Commerce, then by the MEA, and finally legalised by the embassy of the destination country. For the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds a final stamp inside the UAE.
Is the AOA apostilled separately from the MOA?
Yes. If they are separate documents, each gets its own stamp. Some companies hold a combined MOA and AOA booklet, which can be certified and legalised as one document.
How long does AOA apostille take?
It depends on the Chamber of Commerce, the MEA and, for attestation, the embassy. We confirm an expected completion date in your written quote and update you on WhatsApp at every stage.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my AOA need?
Look at the destination. A Hague Convention member (for example Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Italy or Japan) accepts the apostille. The UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China need attestation and the embassy stamp.
Does an LLP have an AOA?
No. An LLP has an LLP agreement instead, which can be legalised through the same chamber and MEA route.
