Certificate of Registration Apostille and Attestation
MEA apostille and embassy attestation for business registration certificates issued in India: GST, Udyam (MSME), partnership firm, society, trust and shop and establishment registrations.

Certificate of registration apostille: quick answer
Certificate of registration apostille is the stamp the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) puts on your Indian certificate of registration so that it is accepted in Hague Convention countries. Before the MEA stage, commercial documents must be authenticated by a recognised Chamber of Commerce; the MEA then fixes the apostille for a government fee of ₹50 per document.
For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries the apostille is not accepted. There you need Certificate of registration attestation: Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation and then the embassy stamp.
Need Registration certificate apostille without travelling to Delhi? Courier the original to our New Delhi office; we manage the chamber, MEA and embassy stages and courier it back. A WhatsApp photo gets you a written quote first.
Why a certificate of registration needs apostille or attestation
Not every Indian business is a company with a certificate of incorporation. Proprietorships, partnership firms, societies, trusts and MSMEs prove that they exist through other registrations: a GST registration certificate, an Udyam (MSME) certificate, a firm or society registration, or a shop and establishment licence.
Foreign buyers, distributors, banks and embassies ask for one of these when they onboard an Indian supplier, approve a business visa or register a partner. For use abroad, the certificate is notarised where needed, attested by a Chamber of Commerce and then apostilled by the MEA for Hague countries or attested by the MEA and the embassy for others.

Tips before sending your certificate of registration
- Tell us which registration certificate the foreign party wants; for companies it is usually the certificate of incorporation instead.
- Printed online certificates (GST, Udyam) should be signed and stamped by the proprietor, partner or director.
- Business names must match the invoice and bank details you give your buyer.

FAQs: Certificate of registration apostille and attestation
How do I get a certificate of registration apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
Send us the original certificate of registration. We arrange Chamber of Commerce attestation in New Delhi and then the MEA apostille, and the stamped document comes back by tracked courier.
What are the charges for Certificate of registration apostille?
The cost has three parts: the MEA’s ₹50 government fee per document, the Chamber of Commerce fee and our service charge. Courier both ways is separate. You get one written quote covering all of it.
Can a GST registration certificate be apostilled?
Yes. The printed GST certificate, signed and stamped by the business, can be notarised, attested by the chamber and then apostilled or attested by the MEA.
What documents are required for Certificate of registration attestation?
Usually the original certificate of registration, a company authorisation letter and a copy of the signatory’s passport or ID. For exporters, the buyer’s country and any instructions from the buyer or bank help us choose the right route.
What is the process for Certificate of registration attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
For these non-Hague countries the certificate of registration is attested by the Chamber of Commerce, then by the MEA, and finally legalised by the embassy of the destination country. For the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds a final stamp inside the UAE.
Is a certificate of registration the same as a certificate of incorporation?
Not exactly. Companies and LLPs have a certificate of incorporation from the MCA; other businesses prove registration through GST, MSME, firm, society or trust certificates.
How long does Certificate of registration apostille take?
It depends on the Chamber of Commerce, the MEA and, for attestation, the embassy. We confirm an expected completion date in your written quote and update you on WhatsApp at every stage.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my certificate of registration need?
It depends on the country where the certificate of registration will be used. Hague Convention countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Italy, the UK and Australia, accept the MEA apostille. The UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China need MEA attestation followed by embassy legalisation.
Can an NGO’s society or trust registration be legalised?
Yes. Society and trust registration certificates follow the same route and are often needed for foreign grants and partnerships.
