Certificate of Analysis Apostille and Attestation
MEA apostille and embassy attestation for certificates of analysis issued by manufacturers and testing laboratories in India, for pharma, chemical, food and agro exports and product registrations abroad.

Certificate of analysis apostille: quick answer
In short, Certificate of analysis apostille is the MEA’s apostille on your certificate of analysis, recognised in every Hague Convention country. As the MEA requires for commercial papers, the certificate of analysis is first attested by a Chamber of Commerce, and then the MEA apostilles it (₹50 government fee per document).
For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries the apostille is not accepted. There you need Certificate of analysis attestation: Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation and then the embassy stamp.

Why a certificate of analysis needs apostille or attestation
A certificate of analysis (CoA) reports the test results for a specific batch: assay, purity, moisture, microbiology or whatever the specification requires. It is issued by the manufacturer’s quality control department or by an independent laboratory, often NABL-accredited.
Importers and regulators abroad ask for a legalised CoA when they register a product, clear a regulated consignment or check that a batch meets their standards. Pharmaceutical and food registrations in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia commonly need it attested by their embassy; Hague countries accept the MEA apostille.

Tips before sending your certificate of analysis
- The batch number, product name and date on the CoA should match the invoice and packing list.
- A CoA signed by an authorised person with designation is legalised more smoothly than an unsigned printout.
- For product registrations, ask the regulator whether the CoA must be recent; some want it within a set period.

FAQs: Certificate of analysis apostille and attestation
How do I get a certificate of analysis apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
The certificate of analysis is notarised where required and then authenticated by a recognised Chamber of Commerce. After that the MEA checks the chamber’s attestation and fixes the apostille. Courier the original to us and we handle each stage.
What are the charges for Certificate of analysis apostille?
The cost has three parts: the MEA’s ₹50 government fee per document, the Chamber of Commerce fee and our service charge. Courier both ways is separate. You get one written quote covering all of it.
Can a CoA from an NABL laboratory be apostilled?
Yes. A signed CoA from an accredited laboratory follows the same route: notarisation where needed, Chamber of Commerce attestation and the MEA apostille or attestation.
What documents are required for Certificate of analysis attestation?
Usually the original certificate of analysis, a company authorisation letter and a copy of the signatory’s passport or ID. For exporters, the buyer’s country and any instructions from the buyer or bank help us choose the right route.
What is the process for Certificate of analysis attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait do not accept the apostille, so the certificate of analysis is attested in stages: the Chamber of Commerce, the MEA and finally the embassy of the country concerned. In the UAE, the foreign ministry adds one more stamp locally.
Is a CoA legalised for every shipment?
Only when the buyer or the importing country asks for it. Many registrations need it once, with the dossier.
How long does Certificate of analysis apostille take?
It varies with the chamber, the MEA and the embassy if one is involved. We tell you the expected date before you courier the certificate of analysis and message you as each stamp is done.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my certificate of analysis need?
The country decides. Apostille works for Hague members such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UK, France and Australia; attestation with embassy legalisation is needed for the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, China and other non-members.
Can the CoA be legalised along with GMP and free sale certificates?
Yes. For product registrations abroad, these documents are often legalised together as one file.
