It is the stamp UAE employers, schools and visa offices look for. MOFA will only act on an Indian document that the Ministry of External Affairs in India has already attested.
The application is made on the MOFA website with a UAE PASS login, choosing the Republic of India as the country of issue. What MOFA actually checks
Each stage in the chain vouches for the one before it. MOFA does not re-check your degree or marriage record. It confirms that the UAE Embassy legalised a document that the MEA had already attested. That is why a missing Indian stage cannot be fixed at the MOFA end.

How the online MOFA application works
The UAE Embassy in New Delhi describes a paperless service in which one application covers the embassy and MOFA. Its published steps are:

Exceptions to know
- PCC: MEA and UAE Embassy only, no MOFA
- Commercial invoices and certificates of origin use a separate MOFA system
- Laminated documents are refused
- Each apostille or attestation must be on its own document
Birth, marriage and death certificates must be submitted as originals. Other documents can go as originals or true copies once the MEA has attested them.
Checking a MOFA attestation
Because the attestation is digital, the receiver does not need to see a sticker. They enter the attestation reference number and the issue date on verify.mofa.gov.ae. Keep the email and the reference number safe; they are what a UAE office will ask for.
If the UAE side rejects an application for not meeting the rules, MOFA states that the attestation fee is refunded automatically, but the courier service fee is not.

Can I get UAE MOFA attestation without MEA attestation?
No. The UAE Embassy in New Delhi accepts Indian documents only after the Ministry of External Affairs has attested them, and MOFA attests only what the embassy has legalised. Skipping the MEA means the online application will be rejected.
Do I have to be in the UAE to get MOFA attestation?
No. The MOFA step is applied for online, and the original is collected in India. INFINITYGRO completes the Indian stages and files the online application, so your document can be fully attested before you travel.
Do I need my own UAE PASS?

Does a PCC need MOFA attestation?
No. A police clearance certificate for the UAE needs MEA attestation in India and online UAE Embassy legalisation only. The MOFA stage is no longer required for a PCC, which saves one fee and some time. Degrees and civil certificates still need it.
Is State HRD attestation needed before MOFA?
For most documents, no. Our route uses a notary and the SDM in Delhi before the MEA. If your UAE employer, university or licensing body sends a checklist that names State HRD attestation, follow that checklist and tell us before we start.
Can MOFA attest a document issued outside India?
Not through the UAE Embassy in New Delhi. The embassy accepts documents issued in India, and Bhutan, only. A document from another country must be attested by the UAE mission in the country that issued it.
