Mistakes that delay a Jharkhand PCC
Name differs from passport
A police station PCC that spells your name or father’s name differently from the passport can be refused at the embassy. Get it corrected at the issuing office before sending.
PCC too old
Gulf visa offices usually want a recent PCC. Ask your employer how old it may be before paying for attestation.
Laminated certificate
A laminated PCC cannot take the MEA stamp. Do not laminate it, and send the original rather than a colour copy.
Hindi-only PCC

Can I apostille my Jharkhand PCC for Dubai instead of attesting it?
No. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so a PCC for Dubai or any other emirate needs MEA attestation and UAE Embassy legalisation. The apostille is only for Hague countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman and European states.
Do I have to travel from Ranchi to Delhi?
No. Courier the original PCC with a passport copy from any district in Jharkhand. We return it by Blue Dart or another secure courier. If a relative is in Delhi, they can drop off and collect it at our New Ashok Nagar office instead.

Does a PCC for the UAE still go to UAE MOFA?
No. A police clearance certificate for the UAE now ends at the UAE Embassy stage, which is done online. Degrees and birth or marriage certificates for the UAE still go on to UAE MOFA, so do not apply the PCC rule to them.
Can you get the PCC from Jharkhand Police for me?

My Qatar employer wants the PCC attested. Is the route different?
Only the last stage. The PCC gets MEA attestation in Delhi and then goes to the Qatar Embassy in New Delhi for legalisation, not the UAE Embassy. The embassy fee differs too and is confirmed in your written quote.
Is a PCC from a Jharkhand police station accepted in the Gulf?
Many employers accept it, but some visa offices insist on a Passport Seva PCC. Ask your employer or agent which type they want before getting it attested. A police station PCC also needs a notary and SDM step, so it takes longer.
