Your Passport Seva PCC has arrived and your Chinese employer wants it legalised. Before the Chinese Embassy or a Consulate General can stamp it, the MEA must attest it. This checklist covers what the certificate should show, what to send us, and what happens at the Chinese mission, so the PCC is not sent back.

Police clearance certificate attestation China Embassy work has two parts. First the Ministry of External Affairs attests the PCC issued by your Passport Seva Kendra or passport office. Then the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, or the Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai or Kolkata, legalises the MEA stamp. The Chinese mission does not accept a PCC that has skipped the MEA.
Papers for legalisation are lodged through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre, which takes the application and fee; consular officers decide whether to legalise. What your Passport Seva PCC should show
- Your full name exactly as in the passport
- The passport number the PCC was issued against
- The issue date, ideally recent for a Chinese work permit
- The passport office seal and signing officer’s details
- No handwriting, corrections or lamination
If any detail is wrong, the PCC has to be reissued by the passport office before attestation. We cannot correct it, and the MEA and the Chinese mission will not overlook it.

After the PCC is legalised
Send the scan to your employer straight away; the permit office counts the PCC’s age from the issue date. If the employer needs a Chinese translation from India, INFINITYGRO translates into Chinese.

Can the Chinese Embassy legalise my PCC without the MEA stamp?
No. The Chinese mission legalises the seal and signature of the MEA. A PCC without MEA attestation is not accepted. That is why the MEA stage always comes first, even when you are in a hurry.
Does a Passport Seva PCC need notary or SDM attestation?
No. A PCC issued by a passport office goes to the MEA for attestation directly. A certificate issued by a local police station is different and may need state authentication first. Send us a photo if you are unsure which you hold.
Where is my PCC lodged for police clearance certificate attestation China Embassy legalisation?
Through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre, which accepts papers and fees for the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in India. Consular officers make the decision on each document. We confirm which mission covers your file when we quote, and we lodge it ourselves, so you do not need to visit the centre.
Can you apply for a PCC on my behalf?
No. INFINITYGRO does not apply for PCCs, book Passport Seva appointments or deal with police verification. Once you hold the PCC, we handle the MEA attestation and the Chinese legalisation, and keep you updated at each stage until it is back with you.
What if my name on the PCC differs from my passport?
The PCC should match the passport it was issued against. If the spelling is different, ask the passport office to correct it before attestation. A mismatched PCC risks refusal at the MEA or the Chinese mission, and a second round of fees and waiting.
What does it cost?
Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per PCC for the MEA stage, including the MEA fee and our service. The Chinese Embassy fee is extra and is confirmed in your written quote. Courier both ways is separate.
Will I get my original PCC back?
Yes. The legalised original is returned to us through the visa centre, and we send it to you by Blue Dart or another secure courier. Delhi clients can collect it from our office. We also send you scans first, so your employer can start the permit file while the original is in transit.
Can I courier the PCC from outside Delhi?
Yes. Most clients courier it to our New Ashok Nagar office. There is no home pickup. Pack the PCC flat in a hard envelope with your passport copy, and keep the tracking number until we confirm receipt on WhatsApp.
