Attestation for China Work Visa: Which Documents to Legalise First
Searching for China visa stamping? The visa itself is handled by the Chinese Visa Application Service Center, not by us. What we do is the part that comes before it: legalising the Indian certificates your employer needs for the work permit. This guide explains which documents to attest, in what order, and where the visa fits in.

Attestation for China work visa: quick answer
Attestation for China work visa applicants means legalising Indian certificates before the visa, not at the visa stage. The Z visa requires a work permit notice that your employer obtains in China, and the permit office asks for documents such as a degree certified by a Chinese embassy or consulate and a criminal record certificate issued within six months. Those are what you legalise.
INFINITYGRO does not apply for visas, book visa appointments or stamp passports. Visas are handled by the Chinese Visa Application Service Center; the Chinese Embassy in India moved visa application forms online from 22 December 2025. We legalise the certificates through notary, SDM, MEA and the Chinese mission. Our MEA stage is Rs 1,000–1,500 per document; the Chinese Embassy fee is extra.

FAQs: Attestation for China Work Visa: Which Documents to Legalise First
Do you do China visa stamping?
No. INFINITYGRO does not apply for visas, book appointments or collect passports for stamping. Chinese visas are handled by the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. We legalise the Indian certificates your employer needs before the work permit and visa.
Which documents need attestation for China work visa applicants?
Usually your highest relevant degree or diploma and a police clearance certificate, because both go into the work permit file. Some employers also want an experience letter. Follow your employer’s written checklist and send everything together.
Does the visa centre check my attested degree?
The Z visa list in the visa centre’s notice names the work permit notice rather than the degree. The degree is checked earlier, when your employer applies for the work permit in China, which is why it must be legalised before the permit file is submitted.
Is the China visa application online now?
The Chinese Embassy in India announced an online visa application system from 22 December 2025, through the visaforchina.cn website. Check the visa centre’s current notice for the steps, since we do not handle visa applications.
Can I use an apostille instead of attestation?
No. India objected to China’s accession to the Apostille Convention, so the apostille is not used between them. Indian certificates for a China work permit need MEA attestation and then legalisation by the Chinese Embassy or a Chinese Consulate General in India.
My family will join me later. What should I prepare?
S1 and S2 family visas ask for relationship proof, such as marriage and birth certificates, with a kinship attestation by a Chinese mission. You can legalise these with your own papers or later. See our family visa document guide.
What does the attestation cost?
Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document for the MEA stage, covering notary, SDM where needed, the MEA fee and service. The Chinese Embassy fee is extra and confirmed in your written quote. Visa fees are separate and paid at the visa centre.
How do I send you the documents?
Courier the originals to our New Ashok Nagar office in Delhi, or drop them off if you live in Delhi. There is no home pickup. We return the legalised documents by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
