Business Agreement Apostille and Attestation
Notarisation, Chamber of Commerce, MEA apostille and embassy attestation for business agreements signed in India: distribution, supply, service, consultancy and MOU documents for use abroad.

Business agreement apostille: quick answer
In short, Business agreement apostille is the MEA’s apostille on your business agreement, recognised in every Hague Convention country. As the MEA requires for commercial papers, the business agreement is first attested by a Chamber of Commerce, and then the MEA apostilles it (₹50 government fee per document).
Countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China are not covered by the apostille for Indian documents, so for them you need Business agreement attestation: MEA attestation after the Chamber of Commerce, followed by embassy legalisation.
INFINITYGRO handles Agreement apostille for exporters, companies and individuals across India by courier. Send a WhatsApp photo of the business agreement and the destination country, and you get the route and a written quote before anything is sent.
Why a business agreement needs apostille or attestation
Many contracts signed by Indian companies are used abroad: a distribution agreement registered with a foreign ministry, a supply contract presented to a customs or tax authority, a service agreement attached to a visa or work permit application, or a memorandum of understanding filed with an investment agency.
Foreign authorities rely on these only after the signatures are verified and the document is legalised. The agreement is signed by the authorised signatories, notarised, attested by a Chamber of Commerce, and then apostilled by the MEA for Hague countries or attested by the MEA and the embassy for others. Agency agreements are covered in detail on our separate agency agreement page.

Tips before sending your business agreement
- If one party signs abroad, the legalisation may be split between countries; plan who signs where before printing the agreement.
- Sign every page or use the format the foreign authority asks for, so pages cannot be replaced.
- Bilingual agreements (English and Arabic, French or Spanish) often save a separate translation step.

FAQs: Business agreement apostille and attestation
How do I get a business agreement apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
Send us the original business agreement. We arrange Chamber of Commerce attestation in New Delhi and then the MEA apostille, and the stamped document comes back by tracked courier.
What are the charges for Business agreement apostille?
For Business agreement apostille you pay the MEA fee of ₹50 per document, the chamber’s fee and our service charge; courier is extra. If you need embassy legalisation instead, we quote that embassy’s charges as well.
Can a contract signed by two companies be apostilled in India?
Yes, for the signatures made in India. The agreement is notarised, attested by the Chamber of Commerce and then apostilled or attested by the MEA.
What documents are required for Business agreement attestation?
The original business agreement, signed and stamped by the company or issuing authority, an authorisation letter on company letterhead (we send the format) and an ID copy of the signatory. Tell us the destination country, because the route depends on it.
What is the process for Business agreement attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait do not accept the apostille, so the business agreement is attested in stages: the Chamber of Commerce, the MEA and finally the embassy of the country concerned. In the UAE, the foreign ministry adds one more stamp locally.
Is a distribution agreement for the UAE attested by the UAE embassy?
Yes, where registration or the buyer requires it: chamber and MEA attestation, UAE embassy legalisation and then the UAE ministry stamp.
How long does Business agreement apostille take?
It varies with the chamber, the MEA and the embassy if one is involved. We tell you the expected date before you courier the business agreement and message you as each stamp is done.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my business agreement need?
Look at the destination. A Hague Convention member (for example Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Italy or Japan) accepts the apostille. The UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China need attestation and the embassy stamp.
Do I need stamp paper for the agreement?
It depends on the agreement and the State where it is signed. Stamp duty is an Indian requirement separate from legalisation; we can guide you on the usual practice.
