Gabon Embassy Attestation in India
Gabon embassy attestation for degrees, experience certificates, marriage records and export documents. Gabon is outside the Apostille Convention, so Indian papers need notary and SDM attestation, the MEA stamp and legalisation by Gabon’s mission in New Delhi, which now operates as a High Commission. We handle every submission and courier the papers back.

What is Gabon embassy attestation?
Gabon embassy attestation is the process that lets an Indian document be accepted by employers, universities and ministries in Gabon. The Ministry of External Affairs attests the paper first, and Gabon’s diplomatic mission in New Delhi then legalises that attestation. People still search for the Gabon embassy, but the MEA’s April 2026 brief describes the mission as a High Commission.
Gabon set up its mission in New Delhi in April 2008. Indian investment in Gabon covers telecom, mining, wood processing, agriculture and infrastructure, and the Indian community there works in trading, timber and mining, so experience letters, degrees and company documents are common requests. Commercial papers are attested by a Chamber of Commerce before they reach the MEA.
Gabon needs embassy attestation, not an apostille
Gabon is absent from the HCCH Apostille Convention status table that we reviewed in October 2026. That means an MEA apostille is not the accepted format. Indian documents need MEA attestation, after which the Gabon High Commission adds its legalisation.

FAQs: Gabon embassy attestation
Is an apostille valid in Gabon?
No. Gabon has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention, so an apostilled Indian document is not accepted in that form. The correct route is MEA attestation followed by legalisation at Gabon’s High Commission in New Delhi.
Is it the Gabon Embassy or the Gabon High Commission?
Gabon’s mission in New Delhi opened as an embassy in April 2008. The Ministry of External Affairs now describes it as a High Commission. Both names refer to the same office, and it is the one that legalises Indian documents for Gabon.
What are the charges for Gabon embassy attestation?
We charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per personal or educational document for the MEA stage, including notary, SDM and the Rs 50 MEA fee. The High Commission’s own fee is extra and confirmed in your written quote. Commercial documents are priced separately.
How long will it take?
Usually 5 to 8 working days after the documents reach our office in Delhi. Courier days in each direction are additional, and we confirm the expected completion date before starting work on your file.
My company is sending me to Gabon. Which certificates do I need?
Most employers ask for your degree or diploma and experience certificates; some also want a police clearance certificate. Follow the list your employer or its immigration agent gives you, and send us a copy so the set we attest matches it.
Can company documents be legalised for business in Gabon?
Yes. A board resolution, power of attorney or certificate of incorporation can be legalised for Gabon. Depending on the document, it is notarised or attested by a Chamber of Commerce, then attested by the MEA and legalised by the Gabon High Commission.
Do I need a French translation?
French is the official language of Gabon, and offices there generally work in French. INFINITYGRO prepares French translations and quotes them by page; ask the receiving office whether it wants the translation legalised as well.
Do I have to come to Delhi?
No. You can courier the originals to our New Ashok Nagar office, or drop them off yourself if you are in Delhi. We do not offer home pickup. Finished documents go back by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
