Transcript Certificate Apostille and Attestation
MEA apostille or embassy attestation for official university transcripts, for admissions, jobs and recognition abroad when the receiving authority asks for a legalised transcript.

Transcript certificate apostille: quick answer
Transcript certificate apostille means getting your transcript certified by the Ministry of External Affairs with an apostille sticker, so that Hague Convention countries accept it without any embassy stamp. The steps are Notary, SDM New Delhi and the MEA apostille; the MEA's own fee is ₹50 per document.
Going to the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait or another country outside the Hague Convention? Then you need Transcript attestation instead: the same notary and SDM steps, MEA attestation, and legalisation by that country's embassy in New Delhi.
INFINITYGRO handles Transcript apostille for clients across India by courier. Send a WhatsApp photo of your transcript and the destination country, and you get the route and a written quote before anything is sent.
When a transcript needs an apostille
A transcript is the university's official record of every subject, credit and grade in your programme. Some universities and ministries abroad, particularly in Europe, ask for the transcript itself to carry an apostille along with the degree.
Credential evaluators such as WES usually want transcripts sent directly by your university in a sealed envelope, and an apostille is not part of that process. Before you apply for an apostille, confirm whether the receiving body wants a legalised transcript or a sealed one.
European admissions
Universities in Italy, Spain and other countries that ask for a legalised transcript.
Recognition offices
Authorities that compare your course content with local degrees.
Employers
Companies that ask for full academic records.
Evaluators
Usually sealed transcripts from the university, not an apostille.

Transcript certificate apostille charges and time
| Apostille fee charged by the MEA | ₹50 per document |
|---|---|
| Service charge (apostille) | Normally ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 per document |
| Normal MEA attestation | No government fee |
| Embassy legalisation | Varies with the embassy; quoted before you send |
| Courier and time | Courier extra; expected date given with the quote |
Every sheet counts as one document, so a transcript with four marksheets is five apostilles. The degree apostille fees page explains each stage.
Tips before sending your transcript
- If you need one sealed transcript for an evaluator and one apostilled transcript for an employer, order two copies from your university.
- Do not open an envelope that must stay sealed for an evaluator; an apostille needs the transcript itself.
- Each transcript page set is treated as one document if it is bound and signed as one; loose pages may be counted separately.

FAQs: Transcript certificate apostille and attestation
How do I get my transcript apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
There are three steps: notary attestation in New Delhi, SDM verification of the notary, and the MEA apostille. You do not need to visit Delhi; courier the transcript to our office and we handle each stage and return it by courier.
What are the charges for Transcript certificate apostille?
For Transcript certificate apostille you pay the MEA fee of ₹50 per document plus our service charge of about ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document; courier is extra. Embassy legalisation for non-Hague countries is priced per embassy, and the quote is always given in writing before you send anything.
Does WES need an apostilled transcript?
Generally no. WES and similar evaluators ask universities to send transcripts directly in sealed envelopes. Apostille is for authorities that specifically ask for a legalised transcript.
What documents are required for Transcript attestation?
The original transcript, a clear copy of your passport (photo and address pages), and a signed authorisation letter that we send you. Tell us the destination country and purpose, because the route depends on it.
What is the process for Transcript attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
For these non-Hague countries the transcript is notarised and verified by the SDM in New Delhi, attested by the MEA, and then legalised by the embassy of the destination country. For the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds a final stamp inside the UAE.
Can a multi-page transcript be apostilled?
Yes, if the university has signed and sealed it as one document. Loose or unsigned pages may need to be issued again by the university.
How long does Transcript certificate apostille take?
It varies with the workload at the SDM office and the MEA, and with the embassy if attestation is needed. We tell you the expected date before you courier the transcript, and we message you as each stamp is done.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my transcript need?
It depends on the country where you will use the transcript. Hague Convention countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Italy, the UK and Australia, accept the MEA apostille. Non-Hague countries, such as the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and China, need MEA attestation followed by embassy legalisation.
Can I get my transcript and degree apostilled together?
Yes. Each gets its own apostille, and sending them in one courier saves time.
