Quick answer

What is Palestine embassy attestation?

Palestine embassy attestation is the legalisation an Indian document needs before Palestinian ministries, universities or employers will rely on it. The Ministry of External Affairs attests the document first, and the Embassy of the State of Palestine in New Delhi then legalises the MEA signature. An apostille is not used, because the State of Palestine does not appear among the parties to the Apostille Convention.

Requests for Palestine usually come from Palestinian students who completed a degree or diploma in India and need it recognised at home, and from families with a birth or marriage registered in India. Some Indian professionals and exporters also need papers legalised. Arabic is the official language, so the receiving office may ask for an Arabic translation after legalisation.

Part 1 · Apostille or attestation

Palestine needs embassy attestation, not an apostille

We checked the HCCH status table in October 2026 (last updated 30 June 2026): the State of Palestine is not listed among the 130 contracting parties to the Apostille Convention. For that reason Indian documents for Palestine go through MEA attestation and then legalisation by the Palestinian Embassy, rather than an apostille.

Before you send documents for Palestine

Send us

  • Original documents, not laminated
  • A copy of your passport
  • A copy of the document holder’s passport and, for students, the university’s list of required papers
  • Your return address and phone number

Watch out for

  • Arabic names are spelt in several ways in English; match the spelling on your degree to your passport before sending
  • Ask the receiving office whether the Arabic translation may be prepared in India or must be done locally
  • Get the final degree and the consolidated transcript; a provisional certificate is often questioned
  • Do not apostille documents meant for Palestine; ask for MEA attestation and embassy legalisation
FAQs

FAQs: Palestine embassy attestation

Can I use an MEA apostille for Palestine?

No. The State of Palestine is not listed as a party to the Apostille Convention, so the apostille is not the accepted route. Your document is attested by the MEA and then legalised at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in New Delhi. We manage both steps.

How much is Palestine embassy attestation?

Our charge for the MEA stage is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per personal or educational document, all-inclusive of notary, SDM, the Rs 50 MEA fee and service. The embassy’s legalisation fee is extra and is confirmed in your written quote. Courier is charged separately.

I finished my master’s degree in India. What do you need for Palestine?

The original degree, the transcript or all marksheets, and a passport copy. If the ministry or university at home has asked for anything specific, such as a course completion letter, send that too so the whole set is legalised together.

How long does the embassy stage take?

Plan on about 5 to 8 working days for the full process once your documents reach Delhi; the embassy stage takes a good part of that and depends on its workload and holidays. We confirm the expected date in writing before we begin.

Can a marriage certificate registered in India be legalised for Palestine?

Yes. It goes through notary, SDM, MEA attestation and the Palestinian Embassy. Names and dates must agree with both spouses’ passports; if they do not, correct the certificate at the registrar first, because the embassy compares them.

Do you translate documents into Arabic?

Yes. INFINITYGRO prepares Arabic translations, priced per page. Some offices accept a translation made in India and others want one done locally, so check with the receiving office before you order and we will prepare it in the format they ask for.

Can a relative in India send my documents while I am abroad?

Yes. A relative or friend can courier the originals with a copy of your passport to our New Ashok Nagar office, or hand them over in person. We send the legalised documents back by Blue Dart or another secure courier to an Indian address.

Are commercial documents for Palestine handled differently?

They start at a Chamber of Commerce instead of a notary and SDM. After the chamber, the MEA attests them and the Palestinian Embassy legalises them. Fees vary with the documents, so we quote in writing once we have seen them.
