Kuwait embassy attestation for export documents is the legalisation of an Indian exporter’s shipping papers, usually the commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list, by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi. Before the embassy, a Chamber of Commerce attests the papers and the MEA attests the chamber’s signature. Kuwait has not joined the Apostille Convention, so there is no shortcut.
Not every shipment needs the embassy stamp. Your Kuwaiti importer, its bank or a tender may ask for it, so confirm before you start. Shipping papers that usually go to Kuwait
The US Commerce Department’s Kuwait guide says Kuwaiti documentation procedures require a commercial invoice, a certificate of origin, a packing list and a bill of lading or airway bill with commercial shipments. It also notes that invoices and certificates of origin are legalised by a chamber of commerce, and tells exporters to ask their importer or forwarder about authentication.

A change after the chamber stage means starting again from the chamber. The MEA and the embassy attest signatures, not figures, so mistakes in content travel with the paper.

Does every shipment to Kuwait need embassy attestation?
No. Many shipments clear with chamber-attested papers. The embassy stamp is needed when the importer, a letter of credit or a tender asks for it. Ask your buyer or forwarder before starting, and send us their instruction.
Can export documents for Kuwait be apostilled?
No. Kuwait is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so an apostille has no effect there. Shipping papers for Kuwait go through a Chamber of Commerce, then MEA attestation, then legalisation by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi.
Which chamber can attest my invoice?

Can I correct the invoice after it is attested?
Not without repeating the chain. Any change to quantities, values or consignee after the chamber stage means a fresh invoice and fresh stamps. Check the final figures with your buyer before you send the papers to us.

It depends on the chamber, the MEA and the Kuwait Embassy’s working days, and on how many papers are in the set. We give a time estimate with your written quote. Tell us the shipment or LC date so we can say whether it is realistic.
Do I need the original certificate of origin?
Yes. The chamber, the MEA and the embassy stamp the original paper, not a photocopy. If your buyer or bank needs more than one attested original, say so before we start, because each original is attested and charged separately.
Can you send the attested papers straight to Kuwait?
Yes. Once the Kuwait Embassy stage is complete, we can courier the set to you, your bank or your buyer in Kuwait. Courier charges are extra and included in the quote if you ask for it.
Do you prepare invoices or certificates of origin?
