Birth Certificate Attestation for Kuwait from India
A child joining a parent in Kuwait, a school admission there or a residence renewal can all turn on one paper: an Indian birth certificate carrying the stamps Kuwait recognises. This guide covers which birth certificate to use, the four stamps it needs in India, and what Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs does once it arrives.

Birth certificate attestation for Kuwait: quick answer
Birth certificate attestation for Kuwait is the legalisation of a birth certificate issued in India so that Kuwaiti offices accept it. Because Kuwait is outside the Hague Apostille Convention, the certificate is notarised, attested by the SDM in Delhi, attested by the MEA and legalised by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi. Kuwaiti procedures then ask for attestation by Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
INFINITYGRO handles the four Indian stages for Rs 1,000–1,500 per certificate, all-inclusive. The Kuwait Embassy fee is extra and confirmed in your written quote. The MOFA stage is completed in Kuwait by the parent, sponsor or the employer’s PRO after the certificate arrives.
When Kuwait asks for an attested birth certificate
Child’s residence
A parent working in Kuwait sponsoring a child usually proves the relationship with the child’s birth certificate.
School admission
Schools in Kuwait may ask for an attested birth certificate to confirm age and parentage.
Adult’s own records
Adults are sometimes asked for their own birth certificate for a residence or employer file. Ask which office wants it.
Kuwait’s e-government portal, for one of its birth certificate services, states that a foreign birth certificate must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That stamp can only be added after the Indian and embassy stamps are in place.

MOFA Kuwait and Arabic translation
The parent or sponsor takes the embassy-attested certificate to Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Many Kuwaiti offices also want an Arabic translation. Ask whether they accept one made in India or need it prepared in Kuwait; INFINITYGRO translates into Arabic if an Indian translation is fine.
If you are sending the certificate along with a marriage certificate for a family visa, put both in one courier so they move through the MEA and the embassy together.

Kuwait embassy attestation feesFAQs: Birth Certificate Attestation for Kuwait from India
Can I apostille a birth certificate for Kuwait?
No. Kuwait is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so the MEA apostille is not accepted there. A birth certificate for Kuwait needs MEA attestation and then legalisation by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi, with MOFA ratification in Kuwait afterwards.
My child’s birth certificate has no name on it. Can it be attested?
It is better not to. A certificate without the child’s name does not link the child to the passport. Ask the registrar to add the name and issue a fresh certificate, then send that one for attestation.
Can a hospital birth record be used?
No. The notary, the SDM and the MEA work on the birth certificate issued by the registrar of births and deaths. A hospital discharge summary or birth slip is not a registration certificate and will not go through the chain.
The certificate was issued in another state. Can you still attest it?
Usually yes. Our route uses the notary and SDM in Delhi before the MEA. If the checklist from Kuwait names State Home Department attestation, tell us first, because that stage is done by the state department, not by INFINITYGRO.
What does it cost?
Our MEA stage is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per certificate, all-inclusive of notary, SDM, MEA and our service. The Kuwait Embassy fee is extra and appears in your written quote. Courier both ways is also extra.
Who does the MOFA Kuwait stamp?
The parent, sponsor or the employer’s PRO, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait. INFINITYGRO completes the stages up to the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi and sends the certificate back to you by courier.
Is an Arabic translation needed?
Often. Kuwaiti offices work in Arabic. Ask the receiving office whether it accepts a translation made in India or wants one made in Kuwait. If an Indian translation is fine, INFINITYGRO can translate the attested certificate into Arabic and return both together.
Can I send siblings’ certificates together?
Yes. Each certificate is attested as a separate document, with its own MEA stage charge and embassy fee, but they travel in one courier and come back together. One written quote covers the whole set.
