BCA Degree Attestation Steps: From Your Degree to a Stamp Accepted Abroad
A BCA degree opens doors to IT jobs and master’s programmes abroad, but the employer or university there cannot check an Indian certificate on its own. It needs Indian stamps on it, in the right order. This post walks through the BCA degree attestation steps, explains where the route splits by country, and lists what to send.
BCA degree attestation steps in brief
BCA degree attestation steps are: a notary attests a true copy of the degree, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi authenticates the notary, and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) adds its stamp. For Hague Convention countries that MEA stamp is the apostille and the process ends there. For countries outside the Convention, the MEA attests the degree and the country’s embassy in New Delhi legalises it.

- Check the spelling of your name against the passport
- Confirm with the employer whether the provisional certificate is acceptable

What are the BCA degree attestation steps?
Notary, then SDM attestation in Delhi, then the MEA. For Hague countries the MEA stamp is the apostille and nothing more is needed. For non-Hague countries the embassy in New Delhi legalises it next, and the UAE also needs UAE MOFA attestation online.
Is HRD attestation required for a BCA degree?
Usually not. Most countries accept the Delhi route of notary, SDM and MEA. INFINITYGRO does not do State HRD attestation; if your checklist insists on it, the State education department completes that step first and we handle the MEA stage after.
How long do the BCA degree attestation steps take?
The notary, SDM and MEA apostille usually take 2–3 working days in Delhi once the degree reaches us. A UAE file, which adds the UAE Embassy and MOFA online, is usually done in 5–7 working days. Courier time is extra.

Do I need my marksheets attested too?
Only if the employer, university or visa office lists them. Master’s admissions often want the transcript or marksheets, while job visas often ask for the degree alone. Follow the checklist you were given, and send everything on it together.
Can I attest a distance-learning BCA degree?
The notary, SDM and MEA stages work the same way for a distance or online degree issued by a recognised Indian university. Whether the employer or authority abroad recognises a distance degree is its own decision, so check that first.
Do you collect the degree from my home?
No. Courier the degree to our Delhi office from any city, or drop it at New Ashok Nagar if you are in Delhi. We return it by Blue Dart or another secure courier, or you can collect it from our office.
