Bangladesh PCC Attestation from North Macedonia Embassy: What Changed in 2025

Bangladesh PCC attestation from North Macedonia Embassy was the route older guides described: Bangladesh MOFA, then the embassy. That changed on 30 March 2025, when the Apostille Convention entered into force for Bangladesh. North Macedonia did not object, so a Bangladeshi police clearance for North Macedonia now normally needs the Bangladesh MOFA apostille, not embassy legalisation.

Quick answer

Bangladesh PCC attestation from North Macedonia Embassy: quick answer

Bangladesh PCC attestation from North Macedonia Embassy is no longer the normal route. The Hague Apostille Convention entered into force for Bangladesh on 30 March 2025. Twelve states objected to its accession, which switches the Convention off between them and Bangladesh, but North Macedonia is not among them. So a Bangladeshi PCC for North Macedonia should now carry the apostille of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which the HCCH lists as the competent authority, and no embassy stamp.

INFINITYGRO cannot issue that apostille; it is done in Bangladesh. If a North Macedonian office still asks for embassy legalisation of a PCC already authenticated by Bangladesh MOFA, send a photo first; we confirm whether we can help.

Part 1 · What changed

Before and after 30 March 2025

Old route

  • PCC issued in Bangladesh
  • Authentication by Bangladesh MOFA
  • Legalisation by the North Macedonian mission covering Bangladesh
  • Several offices, several weeks

Current route

  • PCC issued in Bangladesh
  • Apostille by Bangladesh MOFA
  • No embassy stage
  • Accepted in North Macedonia as a Convention party

The HCCH also recorded that Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues electronic apostilles, from April 2025. Bangladeshi news reports say the service runs through the government’s MyGov platform and covers police clearance among other documents.

Part 2 · Objections

Why North Macedonia is on the apostille side

When a country joins the Convention by accession, existing parties may object within six months. Where they do, the Convention does not apply between the two, and the old legalisation route stays. The Dutch treaty database, which records the Convention as depositary, lists objections to Bangladesh from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania and the Netherlands.

North Macedonia is not on that list. That is why its offices should accept a Bangladesh MOFA apostille. If your file is for one of the twelve objecting states instead, the route is different; ask us.

FAQs

FAQs: Bangladesh PCC Attestation from North Macedonia Embassy: What Changed in 2025

Does a Bangladesh PCC still need North Macedonia Embassy attestation?

Normally not. Since 30 March 2025 the Apostille Convention applies to Bangladesh, and North Macedonia did not object to its accession. A Bangladeshi PCC for North Macedonia should carry the Bangladesh MOFA apostille and needs no embassy legalisation.

Who issues the apostille on a Bangladeshi PCC?

Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which the HCCH lists as the competent authority. It issues electronic apostilles, and news reports say police clearance is among the documents covered. INFINITYGRO does not issue or obtain Bangladeshi apostilles.

Which countries do not accept Bangladesh’s apostille?

Twelve states objected: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Between them and Bangladesh the Convention does not apply, so legalisation is still used for those countries.

My North Macedonian employer still asks for embassy legalisation. What now?

Show them the change first; some offices have not updated their checklists. If they still insist, send us a photo of the PCC with its Bangladesh MOFA stamp. We confirm whether we can help before you send anything.

Can INFINITYGRO apply for my Bangladesh PCC?

No. The PCC comes from the police in Bangladesh, and INFINITYGRO does not apply for police clearance or verification in any country. We work only with documents that have already been issued and, for Bangladesh, authenticated there.

How much do you charge?

For documents issued outside India, our help is quoted in writing after we see a photo, because each case differs. Any embassy fee, translation and courier are listed separately in the same quote. There is no fixed published price.

Does the PCC need a Macedonian translation?

North Macedonian offices may ask for one. Ask whether a translation made outside North Macedonia is accepted and whether the apostille must be translated too. INFINITYGRO translates into Macedonian where a translation from India is accepted.

I also lived in India. Do I need an Indian PCC?

If the checklist asks for police records from every country you lived in, yes. An Indian PCC for North Macedonia takes the MEA apostille, since both India and North Macedonia are Convention parties. We handle that in Delhi.
