Bangladesh PCC Attestation from Croatia Embassy: Old Route, New Route

Bangladesh PCC attestation from Croatia Embassy is still what many Croatian work permit checklists and agents ask for. The rule underneath has changed: Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention with effect from 30 March 2025, and Croatia did not object. This post compares the old and new routes and explains what to do if your employer’s paperwork has not caught up.

Quick answer

Bangladesh PCC attestation from Croatia Embassy: quick answer

Bangladesh PCC attestation from Croatia Embassy used to mean Bangladesh MOFA authentication followed by legalisation at the Croatian Embassy in New Delhi, which, according to Croatia’s Foreign Ministry, covers Bangladesh. Since 30 March 2025 the Apostille Convention applies between Bangladesh and Croatia, because Croatia is a party and did not object to Bangladesh’s accession. A Bangladesh MOFA apostille on the PCC should now be enough for a Croatian work permit or residence file.

INFINITYGRO does not obtain Bangladeshi apostilles or PCCs. If a Croatian office still demands embassy legalisation of a PCC already authenticated by Bangladesh MOFA, send a photo first; we confirm whether we can help and quote in writing.

Part 1 · Two routes

The old route and the new route side by side

Issuing the PCCPolice in Bangladesh, in both routes
Bangladesh MOFAOld: authentication. New: apostille, issued electronically
Croatian Embassy, New DelhiOld: legalisation. New: not needed
Time and costNew route removes an embassy appointment, a fee and courier to India

The HCCH status table shows Croatia as a party since 1991 and Bangladesh since 30 March 2025. The depositary’s list of objections to Bangladesh, kept in the Dutch treaty database, does not include Croatia.

Part 2 · Out-of-date checklists

When the Croatian employer still asks for the embassy

Agents and employers often reuse checklists written before 2025. Before paying for any embassy step, try these in order:

  1. 1
Ask the employer or agentPoint out that Croatia accepts the Bangladesh MOFA apostille since 30 March 2025.
  2. 2
Ask the Croatian authorityIf unsure, the office deciding the permit can confirm what it accepts.
  3. 3
Keep both stampsIf the PCC already carries Bangladesh MOFA authentication, keep it safe.
  4. 4
Send us a photoIf legalisation is still demanded, we confirm whether we can help in New Delhi.
An embassy whose country accepts the apostille may decline to legalise a document from another Convention party. That is one more reason to check before couriering the original to India.
Part 3 · The embassy

Bangladesh PCC attestation from Croatia Embassy in New Delhi, if still needed

Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs lists Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka among the countries covered by its embassy in India. That is why older guides send Bangladeshi documents to New Delhi.

  • The PCC must already be authenticated by Bangladesh MOFA
  • Your passport copy and the employer’s letter should accompany it
  • The embassy fee is set by the embassy and shown in your written quote
  • Our charges are quoted in writing after we see a photo

Translation and Indian documents

01

Croatian translation

Croatian offices may ask for one. Ask whether a translation made outside Croatia is accepted; where it is, we translate, quoted by page.

02

Indian PCC

If you lived in India, the checklist may ask for an Indian PCC too. It takes the MEA apostille, which we handle in Delhi.

FAQs

FAQs: Bangladesh PCC Attestation from Croatia Embassy: Old Route, New Route

Does Croatia accept the Bangladesh MOFA apostille on a PCC?

It should. Both countries are parties to the Apostille Convention, which has applied to Bangladesh since 30 March 2025, and Croatia is not among the twelve states that objected. An apostilled Bangladeshi PCC therefore needs no Croatian Embassy legalisation.

Which Croatian embassy covers Bangladesh?

Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs lists Bangladesh among the countries covered by its embassy in New Delhi, together with Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. That embassy was the legalisation point under the old route.

My agent says I still need Croatia Embassy attestation. Who is right?

The agent may be using an old checklist. Ask the Croatian authority or employer directly whether it accepts the Bangladesh MOFA apostille. If it still insists on legalisation, send us a photo; we confirm whether we can help.

Can INFINITYGRO get the Bangladesh apostille for me?

No. The apostille is issued in Bangladesh by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the PCC itself comes from the police there. INFINITYGRO does not apply for either. We can check your document, translate it and, where needed, help in New Delhi.

How much does Bangladesh PCC attestation from Croatia Embassy cost?

Our part is quoted in writing after we see a photo, because cases differ. The Croatian Embassy fee, if legalisation is still required, translation and courier are listed separately in the same quote before you send anything.

Would the embassy legalise a PCC that already has an apostille?

Usually there is no reason to ask. The apostille replaces embassy legalisation between Convention parties, and an embassy may decline to add its stamp. Confirm what the Croatian office wants before sending the original anywhere.

Do I need a Croatian translation?

Croatian authorities may ask for the PCC and apostille in Croatian. Ask the office handling your permit whether a translation made outside Croatia is accepted. Where it is, INFINITYGRO translates into Croatian, quoted by page.

I worked in India before. Do I also need an Indian PCC?

If the Croatian checklist asks for police records from each country you lived in, yes. An Indian PCC for Croatia takes the MEA apostille, because India and Croatia are both parties, and we handle it in Delhi.
