Degree Certificate Apostille for Ecuador: Recognition and Jobs

Ecuador’s official procedure for recognising a foreign degree asks for the original degree apostilled under the Hague Convention. For an Indian degree that means the MEA apostille, not an Ecuador Embassy stamp. We get the degree notarised and authenticated by the SDM in Delhi, apostilled by the MEA, and courier it back, usually within 2–3 working days.

Quick answer

Degree certificate apostille for Ecuador: quick answer

Degree certificate apostille for Ecuador is the MEA apostille on an Indian degree, which Ecuador accepts in place of embassy legalisation. The Apostille Convention has applied between India and Ecuador since July 2005. Ecuador’s procedure for recognising foreign degrees, published on its government portal, lists the original degree duly apostilled under the Hague Convention among its general requirements.

Before the MEA apostilles a degree it must be authenticated in India, so INFINITYGRO arranges a notary and the SDM in Delhi first. The total is Rs 1,000–1,500 per document, covering the notary, SDM, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service. Courier is extra, and the apostille usually takes 2–3 working days once the degree reaches us.

Part 1 · Degree recognition

Why Ecuador wants the degree apostilled

Ecuador has an official procedure for recognising degrees earned abroad, listed on its government portal under the code SENESCYT-002-01-02. Its general requirements include the original foreign degree duly apostilled under the Hague Convention. Employers, universities and regulators in Ecuador may refer to that recognition or ask for the apostilled degree directly.

01

Recognition of the degree

Registering or recognising an Indian degree in Ecuador starts from the apostilled original.

02

Jobs and contracts

Employers may ask for the apostilled degree, or for proof that it has been recognised.

03

Further study

Universities may ask for the degree and transcripts when you apply for a postgraduate course.

Part 2 · Language

Does an English degree need a Spanish translation?

The recognition procedure says documents in a language other than Spanish or English must be translated by a registered or accredited translator. An Indian degree printed in English may therefore not need translating for that procedure, while a degree with text in Hindi or another language will.

Other offices, such as migration or employers, may still want Spanish. Ecuador’s foreign ministry asks for foreign documents in residence procedures to be translated into Spanish. Check with the office you are dealing with. INFINITYGRO offers Spanish translation where an India-made translation is accepted.

FAQs

FAQs: Degree Certificate Apostille for Ecuador: Recognition and Jobs

Does my Indian degree need Ecuador Embassy attestation?

No. India and Ecuador both apply the Apostille Convention, so the MEA apostille replaces embassy legalisation. Ecuador’s own degree recognition procedure asks for the original degree apostilled under the Hague Convention, which is exactly what the MEA issues.

What does degree certificate apostille for Ecuador cost?

Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document in total, covering the notary, the SDM, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service. Courier is extra, and a Spanish translation, if needed, is quoted by page.

Do I need to translate my English degree into Spanish?

For Ecuador’s degree recognition procedure, documents in a language other than Spanish or English need translation, so an English degree may be accepted as it is. Other offices may still ask for Spanish. Check with the office handling your case.

Can a degree from any Indian university be apostilled?

Yes. We route degrees from universities in every Indian state through a notary and the SDM in Delhi before the MEA apostille. You do not need to travel to your university or the MEA; courier the original to our office or drop it off.

Will the apostille guarantee recognition in Ecuador?

No. The apostille confirms that the signatures in the chain on the degree are genuine. Whether the degree is recognised in Ecuador, and at what level, is decided by the Ecuadorian authority under its own rules and timelines.

Should I apostille a provisional certificate?

Only if the Ecuadorian side accepts it. Recognition procedures generally ask for the original degree. An apostille stays on the paper it was issued for, so a provisional certificate apostilled now cannot be swapped for the final degree later.

How long does it take?

Usually 2 to 3 working days in Delhi once the degree reaches us. Add courier time from your city to Delhi and back, and a few days for any Spanish translation you order. Tell us about any deadline when you first contact us.

Do you handle state HRD verification of degrees?

No. If an Ecuadorian office specifically asks for state education department verification, that is done by your state. Our route uses the notary and SDM in Delhi, which the MEA accepts before issuing the apostille.
