Commercial Documents Apostille for Saudi Arabia: Chamber and MEA
Indian companies used to send invoices, certificates of origin and company deeds to the Saudi Embassy in New Delhi for attestation. Since Saudi Arabia joined the Apostille Convention in December 2022, those papers take a Chamber of Commerce stamp and then the MEA apostille instead. We handle both stages in Delhi and quote every set in writing.

Commercial documents apostille for Saudi Arabia: quick answer
Commercial documents apostille for Saudi Arabia is the route Indian company and trade papers now take for use in Saudi Arabia. The Apostille Convention entered into force for Saudi Arabia on 7 December 2022, and the HCCH status table shows no Saudi declaration excluding commercial or customs documents. That makes Saudi Arabia different from Oman, which removed trade papers from the Convention in 2021.
The MEA’s guidelines require commercial documents to be pre-authenticated by a Chamber of Commerce. So the paper is first attested by a recognised chamber and then apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs. There is no Saudi Embassy stage. INFINITYGRO handles both steps from Delhi and quotes each set in writing, because chamber charges vary by document.

Why the route differs from the UAE, Qatar and Oman
Apostille works
Saudi Arabia: commercial papers take the chamber stamp and then the MEA apostille, the same route used for most Convention countries.
Embassy legalisation needed
UAE, Qatar and Kuwait are outside the Convention. Oman is a party but excludes commercial and customs papers.
Exporters shipping to several Gulf countries often need two different routes for the same invoice. Tell us every destination at the start.
Preparing papers so the chamber accepts them
- Print on company letterhead where the paper is issued by you
- Sign by a director or authorised signatory, with name and designation
- Stamp the company seal beside each signature
- Name the Saudi party exactly as in your contract
- Keep figures and dates consistent across invoice, packing list and certificate of origin
If the Saudi party wants an Arabic version, INFINITYGRO can translate the papers. Ask first whether the translation must also be apostilled.

Saudi Arabia attestation and apostille feesFAQs: Commercial Documents Apostille for Saudi Arabia: Chamber and MEA
Can commercial documents be apostilled for Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Saudi Arabia is a party to the Apostille Convention from 7 December 2022 and has made no declaration excluding commercial or customs papers. Indian company and trade documents therefore take a Chamber of Commerce stamp and then the MEA apostille.
Is Saudi Embassy attestation still needed for invoices?
Not for an apostilled invoice. The apostille replaces legalisation by the Saudi Embassy between Convention countries. If a Saudi buyer or bank still asks for an embassy stamp, ask it to confirm in writing and share that with us before you proceed.
Why is a Chamber of Commerce stamp needed first?
The MEA’s attestation guidelines say commercial documents must be pre-authenticated by a Chamber of Commerce. The chamber confirms the company signatory, and the MEA then apostilles the chamber’s signature. Without it the MEA will not accept the paper.
How long does commercial documents apostille for Saudi Arabia take?
It depends on the chamber, the number of papers and the MEA’s schedule, so we do not publish one fixed figure. We give a time estimate with the written quote and add courier time from your city to Delhi and back.
Our company is in Gujarat. Can you handle it?
Yes. The company can be registered anywhere in India. Courier the signed originals to our Delhi office and we take them through the chamber and the MEA, then return them by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
Can a certificate of origin be apostilled for Saudi Arabia?
Yes. A certificate of origin for Saudi Arabia takes the chamber stage and then the MEA apostille. Make sure it matches the invoice number, consignee and goods, because a mismatch can cause trouble at Saudi customs.
Do personal documents of our staff follow the same route?
No. Degrees, experience letters and other personal papers of employees go through a notary and the SDM in Delhi before the MEA apostille, at Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per document. Send them as a separate set.
Can you translate company papers into Arabic?
Yes. INFINITYGRO translates into Arabic and other languages, priced by language and page. Check with the Saudi party whether the translation must also carry an apostille, so we can plan the order of work before the chamber stage.
