Some US universities accept attested copies or a credential evaluation instead, while state licensing boards and employers frequently want an apostille on the degree and transcripts. Since the United States is a convention member, an MEA apostille is the correct form of legalisation, with no embassy stamp needed afterwards.
My documents are in Telugu. Does that matter?
Degrees from Andhra universities are normally issued in English, so this rarely arises.
