HRD Attestation in Delhi NCR: Step-by-Step for Students and Professionals
Studied in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram or Ghaziabad and been told you need HRD attestation? First check two things: which State the stamp has to come from, and whether your destination needs it at all. For most countries the Delhi notary, SDM and MEA route is accepted, and HRD is added only when the receiving checklist asks for it.
HRD attestation in Delhi NCR: the short version
HRD attestation in Delhi NCR means getting an educational certificate verified by the education department of the State whose university or board issued it. The NCR covers three States, so a Delhi University degree, a degree from a Gurugram college and one from a Noida institute can each need a different State office. Where you live or work today does not decide it.
Most students and professionals do not need HRD at all. One region, three State education departments
State HRD attestation is done by a State government, and the right State is the one where your document was issued. In the NCR that is usually one of these three.
Delhi
Degrees and certificates from universities and institutions in the National Capital Territory go to the Delhi government’s education department.
Haryana
Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat institutions fall under Haryana. A Haryana degree is not stamped by a Delhi office.
Uttar Pradesh
Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad institutions fall under Uttar Pradesh, whatever your current address.
HRD or the Delhi SDM route?
Delhi route is enough
For most countries, notary and SDM attestation in Delhi followed by the MEA apostille or attestation is accepted. This covers Hague countries such as the UK, Germany, Australia and South Korea, and also the usual attestation route for many Gulf employers.
Add State HRD
Only when the receiving university, employer, licensing body or embassy names State HRD or education department attestation on its own checklist. Some professional councils and government employers ask for it.
Adding HRD without being asked rarely helps. It adds a State stage with its own timeline before the MEA stage can even begin.
