Manipur PCC Apostille Guide: From Imphal to the MEA and Back

This Manipur PCC apostille guide is for students, nurses and workers from Imphal, Thoubal, Churachandpur and other districts whose police clearance certificate must be used abroad. The MEA apostille is issued only in Delhi, a long courier journey from Manipur, so the practical questions are which PCC you hold, how to send it safely and how long the round trip takes.

Quick answer

Manipur PCC apostille guide: quick answer

Manipur PCC apostille guide in brief: a police clearance certificate from Manipur is apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, not in Imphal. Passport Seva PCCs for Manipur residents are issued under the Regional Passport Office, Guwahati, which covers all six north-eastern states listed on its Passport Seva page, including Manipur; those PCCs go straight to the MEA. A PCC from a Manipur police station needs a notary and the SDM in Delhi first.

INFINITYGRO charges Rs 1,000–1,500 all-inclusive for a Passport Seva PCC, usually 2–3 working days, and Rs 1,500 fixed for a police station PCC, usually 5–7 working days. Courier both ways is extra.

Part 1 · Who needs it

Who in Manipur asks for a PCC apostille

01

Students

Universities and visa offices in Europe, the UK and East Asia often want an apostilled PCC with a residence permit file.

02

Nurses and care workers

Nursing councils and employers abroad commonly ask for a recent PCC with the apostille or embassy attestation.

03

Workers and families

Work permits, family reunion visas and long-stay residence applications frequently list a PCC from the home country.

Whoever the receiver is, read its checklist before following the rest of this Manipur PCC apostille guide. It tells you whether it wants a Passport Seva PCC or a police PCC, how recent it must be, and whether a translation is needed.

FAQs

FAQs: Manipur PCC Apostille Guide: From Imphal to the MEA and Back

Can I get my PCC apostilled in Imphal?

No. The MEA apostille is issued in Delhi through its outsourced collection centres, and there is no MEA apostille counter in Imphal. Courier the PCC to our Delhi office instead; you do not need to travel.

Which passport office issues PCCs for Manipur?

Passport Seva lists Manipur’s districts under the Regional Passport Office, Guwahati, with a Passport Seva Kendra in Imphal. A PCC issued through Passport Seva for a Manipur resident is signed by an officer of that system and goes straight to the MEA.

How much does a Manipur PCC apostille cost?

Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 all-inclusive for a Passport Seva PCC, and Rs 1,500 fixed for a police station PCC including notary and SDM in Delhi. Courier charges both ways are extra and depend on your district.

How long will the whole process take from Manipur?

The Delhi part usually takes 2 to 3 working days for a Passport Seva PCC and 5 to 7 for a police station PCC. Add courier time from Manipur to Delhi and back, which is often longer than from cities closer to Delhi.

Do you apply for the PCC with Manipur Police?

No. INFINITYGRO does not apply for PCCs, book Passport Seva appointments or follow up verification with Manipur Police. Get the PCC issued yourself, then send us a photo and the original for the apostille or attestation.

I am studying abroad. Can my family in Manipur send my PCC?

Yes. A parent or relative can courier the original PCC with a copy of your passport. We return it to them or courier it abroad to you, as you choose. Updates on each stage come to you on WhatsApp, whatever your time zone.

Does a PCC for Dubai get an apostille?

No. The UAE is not a Hague Convention party. A PCC for Dubai needs MEA attestation followed by online UAE Embassy legalisation. There is no UAE MOFA step for a PCC, so the route is shorter than the one for a degree.

My PCC is a little damp and creased. Will it be accepted?

A crease is usually fine, but a torn, stained or smudged PCC may be refused at the notary, SDM or MEA. Send a photo first; we will tell you whether it is likely to go through or whether a fresh PCC is safer.
