How Do I Attest Commercial Documents from Qatar Embassy in India?
This post answers the questions exporters, company secretaries and founders actually ask us about Qatar papers, one at a time and in plain words. Do you need to visit the embassy? Can an apostille work? Which papers qualify? What happens once they reach Doha? If you need the stage-by-stage overview instead, our main Qatar commercial guide covers it.

The short answer
How do I attest commercial documents from Qatar Embassy in India? You get the signed papers attested by a Chamber of Commerce, then by the Ministry of External Affairs, and then legalised by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in New Delhi. An apostille does not work for Qatar, because Qatar has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention.
You do not have to visit the chamber, the MEA or the embassy yourself. INFINITYGRO handles all three stages from our Delhi office: you courier the papers, or drop them off if you are in Delhi. Every set is quoted in writing after we see it, and the Qatar Embassy fee is listed separately in that quote.
Can I just get an apostille for Qatar?
No. Qatar is not on the HCCH list of Apostille Convention parties. An apostilled paper is not accepted there, even from a Qatari buyer who is happy with your company. So the honest answer to how do I attest commercial documents from Qatar Embassy in India always starts with the chamber, then MEA attestation, then the Qatar Embassy. A paper that already has an apostille still has to go through that route.
Do I have to go to the Qatar Embassy myself?
No. The embassy legalises papers that already carry MEA attestation, and the MEA itself does not accept documents from individuals at its own counter; papers go through its outsourced collection centres. We file and collect at every stage in New Delhi.

Which commercial documents can be attested for Qatar?
Almost any paper your company signs, as long as it is final and carries a proper signature and seal. These are the ones we see most often.
What happens once the papers reach Qatar?
Qatari offices may also ask for attestation by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That is done in Qatar by your partner, agent or PRO. Qatar’s MOFA website also lists an online Attestation Completion Service for documents issued abroad, introduced in December 2024.

Qatar embassy attestation feesFAQs: How Do I Attest Commercial Documents from Qatar Embassy in India?
How do I attest commercial documents from Qatar Embassy in India if my company is outside Delhi?
Courier the signed originals to our New Ashok Nagar office in Delhi. The chamber, MEA and Qatar Embassy stages all happen in Delhi, so your company’s location does not matter. We return the papers by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
Can a sole proprietor’s papers be attested?
Yes. The proprietor signs as the authorised person, and the chamber attests that signature. Keep your GST or shop registration ready, because a chamber may ask for proof that the business exists before it attests the first paper.
The paper was signed by our Qatari partner too. Is that a problem?
No. The Indian stages attest your company’s signature. A paper that also carries the Qatari partner’s signature can still go through the chamber, MEA and embassy, as long as your signatory’s signature and seal are clear.
Can copies be attested instead of originals?
Some company papers, like a certificate of incorporation, are attested as certified copies. Invoices and agreements are usually attested in original. Tell us what your Qatari side wants, and we confirm what to send before you courier anything.
What does it cost?
Commercial papers are quoted in writing after we see them, because chamber charges vary by document. The Qatar Embassy fee is extra and shown separately in the quote. Courier both ways and any translation are also listed.
Do the papers need to be in Arabic?
Not for the Indian stages, which work with English papers. Some Qatari offices want an Arabic version for registration or contracts. Ask your Qatari partner first; INFINITYGRO can translate into Arabic if a translation made in India is acceptable to them.
Can personal documents of a director go in the same batch?
Yes, but they follow the personal route: notary and SDM in Delhi instead of the chamber, then MEA attestation and the Qatar Embassy. Send them together with the company papers and we plan both routes in one written quote.
Can you courier the attested papers to Doha?
Yes. After the Qatar Embassy stage we can send the set directly to your partner or agent in Qatar. The courier charge is extra and added to your quote once you give us the address.
