Bank Statement Apostille and Attestation
MEA apostille and embassy attestation for bank statements and bank letters from Indian banks, for visas, study abroad, business setup and property transactions.

Bank statement apostille: quick answer
In short, Bank statement apostille is the MEA’s apostille on your bank statement. It is recognised in every Hague Convention country. We complete it in three steps in New Delhi: notary, SDM verification and the MEA apostille, for which the government fee is ₹50 per document.
For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries the apostille is not accepted. There you need Bank statement attestation: notary, SDM, MEA attestation and then the embassy stamp.
We arrange Bank statement apostille in India from start to finish by courier, for clients in every State. Share a photo of the bank statement on WhatsApp with the country name, and we confirm the route and price in writing.
Why a bank statement needs an apostille or attestation
Some foreign authorities want proof of funds that they can rely on without contacting your bank: student visas, residence permits, company formation, property purchases and court matters abroad. In those cases they ask for a bank statement that has been legalised in India.
The statement must be issued and signed by the bank, with the branch stamp. It is then apostilled by the MEA for Hague countries, or attested by the MEA and legalised by the embassy for the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Hague countries.
Student visas
Proof of funds for study abroad.
Residence permits
Financial means for long-stay visas.
Company formation

Property purchase

Tips before sending your bank statement
- An internet-banking printout without the bank’s stamp and signature is not accepted; ask the branch to certify it.
- Statements are usually expected to be recent; order them close to the time of your application.
- Multi-page statements should be stamped or signed so they are clearly one document.

FAQs: Bank statement apostille and attestation
How do I get my bank statement apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs?
First the original bank statement is attested by a notary in New Delhi. The SDM office in New Delhi then verifies the notary, and the MEA fixes the apostille sticker on the back. You can courier the original to us; we complete all three steps and courier it back.
What are the charges for Bank statement apostille?
The MEA charges a government fee of ₹50 per document for an apostille. Our service charge for Bank statement apostille is usually ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document, and courier is extra. Embassy attestation for the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other countries costs more and is quoted per country. You always get a written quote first.
Can an online bank statement be apostilled?
Only after the bank certifies it with a signature and branch stamp. A plain download is not accepted for legalisation.
What documents are required for Bank statement attestation?
Send the original bank statement with a copy of your passport’s photo and address pages and the signed authorisation letter we provide. The country of use and the purpose decide whether we apostille or attest it.
What is the process for Bank statement attestation for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait?
The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait do not accept the apostille, so the bank statement is attested in four stages: a New Delhi notary, the SDM, the MEA and finally the embassy of the country concerned. In the UAE, the foreign ministry adds one more stamp locally.
How recent should the bank statement be?
Most authorities want a statement issued within the last few weeks or months. Check the receiving authority’s rule.
How long does Bank statement apostille take?
It varies with the workload at the SDM office and the MEA, and with the embassy if attestation is needed. We tell you the expected date before you courier the bank statement, and we message you as each stamp is done.
Apostille or attestation: which one does my bank statement need?
Look at the destination. If it is a Hague Convention member (for example Saudi Arabia, Oman, Italy, Germany, Japan or Australia), the apostille is enough. If it is the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait or China, the bank statement needs attestation and the embassy stamp.
Can a bank solvency certificate be apostilled too?
Yes. A solvency certificate or balance confirmation letter signed by the bank follows the same route.
