Nauru Embassy Attestation in India
Nauru embassy attestation for Indian professionals, families and suppliers dealing with the Republic of Nauru. As Nauru has not signed up to the Apostille Convention, Indian certificates need MEA attestation and then the stamp of the Nauru High Commission in New Delhi. Send or drop your originals at our Delhi office and we take care of every stage.

Why Nauru needs embassy attestation, not an apostille
Nauru embassy attestation is needed because Nauru is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. An Indian certificate is first checked by a notary and the SDM in Delhi, then attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, and finally legalised by the Nauru High Commission, which Nauru set up as a resident mission in New Delhi in 2022.
The Indian community in Nauru is small, and most requests we get are from teachers, health workers and other professionals recruited for contracts on the island, plus spouses and children who travel with them or join them later. Suppliers of medicines and other goods sometimes need legalised invoices or certificates of origin too; those pass through a Chamber of Commerce before the MEA.
Nauru needs embassy attestation, not an apostille
We checked the HCCH Apostille Convention status table in October 2026 and Nauru is not listed as a contracting party. The Convention therefore does not operate between Nauru and India, and an apostille is not the right certificate. The Nauru High Commission legalises the MEA attestation instead.

FAQs: Nauru embassy attestation
Does Nauru accept documents apostilled in India?
No. Nauru has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention, so an apostille from the MEA is not the accepted form. Your document needs MEA attestation followed by legalisation from the Nauru High Commission in New Delhi.
Does Nauru have a High Commission in India?
Yes. Nauru established a resident mission in New Delhi in 2022, and its High Commissioner presented credentials to the President of India in September 2024. We take care of submitting your documents there after the MEA stage.
What are the charges for Nauru embassy attestation?
We charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per personal or educational document for the MEA stage, all-inclusive. The Nauru High Commission’s legalisation fee is extra and is confirmed in your written quote. Commercial documents add Chamber of Commerce charges; courier is billed separately.
How many working days should I allow for Nauru?
About 5 to 8 working days after your originals reach us, plus courier. Because the High Commission is a small mission, timings can vary a little, so we confirm the expected date in writing before we start.
I have been offered a teaching job in Nauru. Which documents need attestation?
Normally the B.Ed. and subject degree with marksheets, experience letters and often a police clearance certificate. Some recruiters also ask for the birth certificate. Follow your recruiter’s list and send everything together so the High Commission stamps the set in one visit.
Can my spouse’s and children’s certificates be attested for Nauru?
Yes. Marriage and birth certificates go through notary and SDM in Delhi, MEA attestation and then the Nauru High Commission. Make sure the names match the passports exactly, because the stamps cannot correct spelling errors.
Is translation into Nauruan needed?
Generally not. English is widely used for official purposes in Nauru, so documents in English are usually accepted as they are. If your certificate is in an Indian language, we can arrange an English translation before attestation.
Do you collect documents from my home?
No, we do not offer home pickup. Courier your originals to our New Ashok Nagar office in Delhi or bring them in person. When the Nauru High Commission has stamped them, we send them back by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
