apostille
The apostille for Chile is placed by the MEA after source verification – the university or state education department for degrees, a notary and SDM for experience letters, the home department or SDM for civil certificates, a chamber of commerce for company papers. Since 2016 Chile’s migration service, universities and notaries accept it without consular legalisation.
Chile embassy attestation is no longer needed – the apostille for Chile replaced it
Before August 2016, Indian documents for Chile needed legalisation by the Chilean consulate. Chile’s accession to the Convention ended that, so the MEA apostille is now all that is required.
Mining and engineering employers in Chile usually ask for the degree, experience letters and police clearance, apostilled and translated into Spanish, for the residence and work file.
