Experience Certificate Apostille in India
Experience certificate apostille for a job offer, work visa or professional registration abroad. Send the experience letter your employer has already issued; we get it notarised, attested by the SDM and apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, then return it to you by Blue Dart.

Experience certificate apostille: quick answer
Experience certificate apostille is the MEA apostille placed on an experience or relieving letter issued by an Indian employer, so that an employer, licensing body or immigration office in a Hague Convention country accepts it without a further embassy stamp. Because the letter comes from a private company, the MEA will only apostille it after a notary and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) have authenticated it.
INFINITYGRO handles all three stages in Delhi. The total is Rs 1,000–1,500 per letter, which already covers the notary, the SDM, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service; courier is extra. The apostille normally takes 2–3 working days once the letter reaches us. For the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait the letter needs MEA attestation and embassy legalisation instead of an apostille.
Who asks for an apostilled experience certificate?
Most overseas employers do not check your work history directly with an Indian company. They rely on the experience letter, and the apostille tells them that the signature and stamp on it have been checked by Indian authorities.
Work visas and skilled migration
Points-based and skilled-worker routes often ask for proof of years of experience, and some assessing bodies want the letter apostilled or certified.
Professional registration
Nurses, engineers, teachers and doctors registering with a council abroad are frequently asked for apostilled experience letters alongside their degree.
Employer onboarding
Companies hiring from India, especially in Europe and the Gulf, ask for legalised experience letters before issuing a final contract or a residence permit.
What a valid experience letter must show
The notary and the SDM will only sign off a letter that looks like a genuine company document. Check these points first; a missing detail is the most common reason for a letter being returned.
The letter should have
- The company’s printed letterhead with its address
- The signature, name and designation of an HR manager or director
- The company seal or stamp next to the signature
- Your full name exactly as in your passport
- Joining and leaving dates and your job title
Problems we often see
- An unsigned letter downloaded from an HR portal
- A name that differs from the passport, for example initials only
- A company that has closed and cannot confirm the letter
- A letter that is laminated or written by hand without a seal
- Only an email copy: the original or a signed print is needed

Does your destination need an apostille or attestation?
MEA apostille is enough
Countries in the Hague Apostille Convention, such as the UK, most of Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Japan and South Korea.
If you are not sure, check the HCCH status table or ask us on WhatsApp before sending the letter.
Documents usually apostilled with an experience letter
Job and migration files rarely need one document. If the employer or council has sent you a checklist, send everything on it in one courier so it moves through the MEA together.

FAQs: Experience Certificate Apostille in India
Can a private company’s experience letter be apostilled?
Yes. The MEA apostilles private documents once a notary and the SDM have authenticated them. That is why an experience letter goes through the notary and SDM stage in Delhi before the apostille. We arrange both, so you only send the original letter.
How much does experience certificate apostille cost?
Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per letter in total. This includes the notary, the SDM attestation, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service charge. Courier charges are separate, and translation, if you need it, is quoted by language and page.
How many days does it take?
Usually 2 to 3 working days in Delhi once the letter reaches us. Add the courier time from your city to Delhi and back, normally two to four days each way.
My former company has closed. Can I still apostille the letter?
Possibly, if the letter is an original on letterhead with a signature and seal. The notary and SDM may still refuse a letter they cannot treat as genuine. Send us a photo first and we will tell you whether it is likely to go through.
Do I need an apostille for a job in Dubai?
No. The UAE does not accept the apostille. An experience letter for the UAE needs MEA attestation and then UAE Embassy legalisation, followed by UAE MOFA attestation online. See our UAE embassy attestation guide for that route.
Can you apostille an experience letter I received by email?
Not as an email. The MEA works on a signed paper document. Ask your employer for a signed and stamped print on letterhead, then send us that original.
Will you contact my employer to get the letter?
No. INFINITYGRO does not obtain, draft or correct experience letters. We start only once you hold the letter issued by your employer.
Do I need a translation as well?
If the receiving office does not work in English, it may ask for a translation. INFINITYGRO translates into any language, and the translation can be done after the apostille so both come back to you together.
