Agency Agreement Attestation for Kuwait
Agency agreement attestation for Kuwait, for Indian manufacturers and exporters appointing a Kuwaiti agent or distributor. Kuwait is outside the Apostille Convention, so the agreement needs notary and Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation and legalisation by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi. Send it from any city; we return it by Blue Dart.

Agency agreement attestation for Kuwait: quick answer
Agency agreement attestation for Kuwait means getting an agency, sole agency or distribution agreement signed in India legalised so that your Kuwaiti partner can rely on it in Kuwait. Kuwait has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention, so the MEA apostille is not an option. The agreement is notarised, attested by a Chamber of Commerce and by the Ministry of External Affairs, and then legalised by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi.
Commercial agencies in Kuwait are governed by Law No. 13 of 2016, and your agent will know which Kuwaiti office needs the agreement and in what form. INFINITYGRO handles the four Indian stages from Delhi. The total is quoted in writing after we see the agreement; the Kuwait Embassy fee is extra and shown in that quote.
Who in Kuwait will ask for the legalised agreement
An agency agreement is a private contract between your company and the Kuwaiti side. It is the use in Kuwait, not the contract itself, that creates the need for embassy legalisation. Ask your partner which of these applies before you sign, because it decides how many originals you need.
Agency registration
Your agent files the agreement to record the agency in Kuwait. Ask them for the current checklist from the Kuwaiti ministry, including the language it wants.
Kuwaiti banks
A bank financing your agent’s purchases, or handling letters of credit for your goods, may ask to see the legalised agency.
Buyers and tenders
Government and private buyers in Kuwait may want proof that the agent is authorised to sell your products before accepting bids.
The four Indian stamps, and what each one checks
| 1. Notary | Confirms the signature of your director or authorised signatory |
|---|---|
| 2. Chamber of Commerce | Attests the agreement as a commercial document of an Indian company |
| 3. MEA attestation | Confirms the chamber’s signature; submitted through the MEA’s outsourced collection centre |
| 4. Embassy of Kuwait, New Delhi | Legalises the MEA stamp so Kuwaiti authorities accept it |
Any further authentication that a Kuwaiti office asks for after the embassy stage, for example by Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is done in Kuwait by your agent. INFINITYGRO completes the Indian stages and returns the agreement to you or couriers it to an address you give.

Arabic translation: decide before you sign
Kuwaiti government offices work in Arabic. Many Kuwaiti agents prefer to have the English agreement translated in Kuwait by a translator their ministry accepts, after the embassy stage. Others ask the Indian principal to sign a bilingual agreement so that both texts carry the same stamps.
If the agent translates in Kuwait
- Attest the English original only
- Keep a spare signed original in India
- Send the agent a scan as soon as the embassy stamp is on
If you sign a bilingual version
- Have the Arabic prepared before signing
- Check that clause numbers match in both texts
- Sign and initial both languages on every page
INFINITYGRO translates into Arabic, quoted by page. We can prepare the Arabic text for a bilingual agreement before it goes for signature.
Problems that delay a Kuwait agency file
- The product list is in an unsigned annex, so it is left out of the attested set
- The agreement has already expired, or the term starts before the signing date
- The company seal is missing beside the director’s signature
- The Kuwaiti agent’s name differs from its commercial registration
- A photocopy is sent when the agent needs the signed original
Related papers for the same file follow the same route. Send them together so that the chamber and embassy stages run once.

Kuwait embassy attestation feesFAQs: Agency Agreement Attestation for Kuwait
Why can’t I just get an apostille for Kuwait?
Kuwait is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so Kuwaiti authorities do not accept the MEA apostille. Documents from India for Kuwait go through MEA attestation and then legalisation by the Embassy of Kuwait in New Delhi.
Which law governs commercial agents in Kuwait?
Commercial agencies in Kuwait are regulated by Law No. 13 of 2016. It sets the conditions for agents and for recording agencies in Kuwait. Your Kuwaiti agent or a Kuwaiti lawyer should confirm how it applies to your agreement; INFINITYGRO handles the attestation in India only.
Does every page of the agreement need to be stamped?
The notary, chamber, MEA and embassy stamps usually go on the signature page or the last page, but the whole bound agreement is presented. Initial every page, staple or bind it firmly, and do not add pages after the notary stage, or the set may be refused.
Can annexes such as the product list be attested with the agreement?
Yes, if they are signed and attached to the agreement before the notary stage. An unsigned annex sent separately is often left out. If the product list will change often, ask your agent whether a separately signed annex is acceptable in Kuwait.
We have two originals. Should both be attested?
Only if both will be used. Many principals keep one original in India and attest the one going to Kuwait. If your agent also needs one for a bank, attest both now, because sending a second original later means a second round of fees and time.
How long does Kuwait Embassy legalisation take?
It depends on the chamber, the MEA centre and the Kuwait Embassy’s working days. We state the expected time in your written quote. Add courier time both ways. Tell us about any deadline in Kuwait when you first contact us.
Can the attested agreement be couriered straight to Kuwait?
We return it within India by Blue Dart or another secure courier, or you collect it from our office. Many clients then send it to Kuwait themselves with their own international courier so they keep control of the original.
Do you translate into Arabic?
Yes. INFINITYGRO translates into Arabic and quotes by page. Whether a translation made in India is accepted, or one made in Kuwait is required, depends on the Kuwaiti office. Ask your agent first so you do not pay for a translation twice.
