apostille
An apostille for Singapore is the MEA apostille on an Indian public document after verification by the competent Indian authority – the home department or SDM for birth and marriage certificates, the state education department for degrees, a chamber of commerce for company papers. Since 16 September 2021, Singapore authorities, courts and companies accept it without legalisation by the Singapore High Commission. English documents need no translation.
Singapore embassy attestation is no longer needed – the apostille for Singapore is
Before September 2021, Indian documents for Singapore went through MEA attestation and then legalisation by the Singapore High Commission. That changed when Singapore joined the Apostille Convention: today the MEA apostille is the final Indian step, and older “Singapore embassy attestation” advice is out of date.
Remember that some Singapore checks are separate from the apostille. For example, work-pass qualifications may be verified directly with the issuing university or through a screening company. The apostille for Singapore proves the Indian signature and seal; it does not replace a check your employer or agency runs. We will help you see which applies.

Translation and the apostille for Singapore

We translate Indian-language documents into English for Singapore files. See our Tamil translation services and Hindi translation services.
