Namibia accepts the MEA’s apostille on Indian documents once each paper has been verified by its issuing authority. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, the Health Professions Councils of Namibia (HPCNA), the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) and BIPA all work with apostilled papers.

Namibia became party to the Hague Convention with effect from 30 January 2001. Since then, Indian documents for Namibia have not needed High Commission legalisation; the apostille issued by the MEA in New Delhi is sufficient.
Indian mining engineers, geologists and metallurgists work at Namibia’s uranium and diamond operations, while doctors, pharmacists and IT consultants make up a growing share. Fish processors in Walvis Bay and Lüderitz also recruit Indian quality-control staff.

For an employment permit, Namibia’s Ministry of Home Affairs usually asks for the employer’s motivation letter, apostilled qualifications and a police clearance. Health professionals must also register with HPCNA before starting work, and that registration often requires a certificate of good standing from the Indian council – which we can apostille too.
Many foreign degrees are evaluated by the Namibia Qualifications Authority; an apostilled degree with transcripts makes the NQA evaluation smoother.
