Kuwait Embassy Attestation in India: Fees, Charges and Process (2026)
Kuwait embassy attestation is the stamp that makes an Indian certificate usable in Kuwait. We take your degree, marriage or birth certificate, PCC or company paper through the notary and SDM in Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi, and return it ready for MOFA Kuwait. You send the documents by courier from any city; we handle every office.

Kuwait embassy attestation: quick answer
Kuwait is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, so an MEA apostille is not accepted there. An Indian document for Kuwait goes through four stages: verification in India (notary and SDM for personal and educational papers, a Chamber of Commerce for commercial papers), MEA attestation, legalisation at the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi, and finally MOFA Kuwait after arrival.
Kuwait embassy attestation fees: for a personal or educational document the Indian stages cost ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document, all-inclusive of the notary, the SDM attestation, the MEA fee and our service charge. The Kuwait Embassy’s fee is added on top and confirmed in writing before you send anything.
Who needs Kuwait embassy attestation
Almost every Indian moving to Kuwait meets this requirement at some point. These are the four situations we see most:
Work visa
Your Kuwaiti employer needs the attested degree or diploma before the work permit and residence are processed.
Family visa
Bringing a spouse or children means an attested marriage certificate and birth certificates for each child.
Civil ID and schools
Residence, Civil ID and school admission for children all ask for attested personal documents.
Trade and company work
Exporters and companies need Kuwait-legalised invoices, Certificates of Origin, agreements and Power of Attorney.
Kuwait embassy attestation process in India
The Delhi route we use for personal and educational documents from every Indian State.
- 1Notary in New DelhiThe original certificate is notarised. Commercial papers skip this and go to a recognised Chamber of Commerce.
- 2SDM attestation, DelhiThe Sub-Divisional Magistrate attests the notarised certificate. This is the Indian verification stage for personal and educational papers.
- 3MEA attestationThe Ministry of External Affairs adds its attestation stamp. Kuwait does not accept the MEA apostille, so this must be an attestation.
- 4Kuwait Embassy, New DelhiThe Embassy of the State of Kuwait legalises the MEA-attested document. We lodge and collect it; you never visit the embassy.
- 5MOFA KuwaitAfter you land, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds the last stamp, which employers and ministries in Kuwait look for.
Kuwait embassy attestation fees and charges 2026
People search for “Kuwait embassy attestation fees” and “Kuwait embassy attestation charges” as if they were two prices. In practice the bill has three parts: the government fees in India, the Kuwait Embassy’s fee, and the agency charge for doing the running. Our figure for the Indian part already combines all of it, so there are no surprise add-ons later.
| Document | Indian stages (all-inclusive) | Kuwait Embassy fee |
|---|---|---|
| Degree, diploma, marksheet, transcript | ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document | Added on top, confirmed in writing |
| Birth, marriage, experience certificate | ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document | Added on top, confirmed in writing |
| Police clearance certificate (PCC) | ₹1,000–₹1,500 (MEA stage + service) | Added on top, confirmed in writing |
| Commercial documents | Chamber + MEA, quoted in writing | Quoted in writing |
| Courier | Charged separately, depends on your city | |
| MOFA Kuwait | Done in Kuwait after arrival, paid there | |
Sending several certificates together, for example a degree for the work visa and a marriage certificate for the family visa, is common. Each document is priced separately, but they travel in one courier and one file.
Kuwait embassy attestation in Delhi, from any city in India
All Kuwait files we handle are lodged at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in New Delhi, and the notary, SDM and MEA stages we use are in Delhi as well. That is why our clients do not need a local office in their own city: the documents come to Delhi once and go back once.
Most Kuwait files reach us by courier from Kerala, Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Maharashtra (Mumbai, Pune), Telangana (Hyderabad), Karnataka (Bengaluru), Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. If you searched for “Kuwait embassy attestation near me”, this is how it works for you:
- WhatsApp a photo of the document and tell us whether it is for a job, a family visa or business.
- We reply with the route, the all-inclusive Indian charge, the Kuwait Embassy fee and the expected return date.
- Courier the originals to our Delhi office (or drop them off if you are in Delhi). We do not offer home pickup.
- You get a WhatsApp update after the SDM, MEA and embassy stages.
- The attested documents come back to you by tracked courier.
What a Kuwait embassy attested document looks like
This is a real document from one of our Kuwait files. After the full route your certificate carries the MEA attestation stamp and the Kuwait Embassy’s legalisation stamp; MOFA Kuwait adds its own stamp later in Kuwait.

- Birth certificate: the original and the passport copy of the child, or of a parent if the child has no passport yet.
- PCC: the original police clearance certificate issued for Kuwait.
- Commercial: the original document and a covering letter on company letterhead, signed and stamped.
- Everyone: a short authorisation letter so we can submit on your behalf (we send the format).
Mistakes that slow down Kuwait attestation
- Getting an apostille instead of attestation. It is not accepted in Kuwait and adds a step later.
- Names that do not match the passport. A spelling difference between the certificate and the passport is the most common reason for a query at the embassy.
- Laminated certificates. Stamps cannot be placed on lamination, so the document has to be re-issued.
- Sending photocopies. The embassy legalises originals only (or a properly certified copy where the issuing office allows it).
- Losing the originals before MOFA Kuwait. Keep the attested documents safe for the final stamp in Kuwait.

Kuwait embassy attestation FAQs
What is Kuwait embassy attestation?
It is the legalisation of an Indian document by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in New Delhi, after the document has been attested by the Ministry of External Affairs. Because Kuwait is not in the Apostille Convention, this embassy stamp (and later MOFA Kuwait) is what makes an Indian certificate valid in Kuwait.
What are the Kuwait embassy attestation fees in India?
For a personal or educational document the Indian stages (notary, SDM, the MEA fee and our service) cost ₹1,000–₹1,500 per document, all-inclusive. The Kuwait Embassy’s own fee is added on top and is confirmed in writing before you send anything. Courier is separate.
What is the difference between Kuwait embassy attestation fees and charges?
“Fees” usually means what the government offices take: the MEA fee and the Kuwait Embassy fee. “Charges” usually means the agency’s service charge. Our ₹1,000–₹1,500 already combines the notary, the SDM attestation, the MEA fee and our charge, so the only additions are the embassy fee and courier.
What are the Kuwait embassy attestation charges for a degree certificate?
For a degree the Indian stages are ₹1,000–₹1,500, all-inclusive of the notary, SDM, MEA fee and our service, plus the Kuwait Embassy fee confirmed in writing. If the employer wants the marksheets or transcript attested with the degree, each one is charged as a separate document.
Is Kuwait embassy attestation done only in Delhi?
We file every Kuwait file at the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi, and the MEA and SDM stages we use are in Delhi too. You can be anywhere in India: courier the originals to our Delhi office and we courier them back.
Can I get Kuwait embassy attestation from Kerala, Chennai, Mumbai or Hyderabad?
Yes. Most of our Kuwait files come by courier from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There is no need to travel to Delhi, and we do not offer home pickup; you send the documents by courier or drop them at our office.
Is an apostille accepted in Kuwait?
No. Kuwait has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention. A certificate that carries only the MEA apostille will be refused; it needs MEA attestation and the Kuwait Embassy stamp instead.
My certificate is already apostilled. Can it still be attested for Kuwait?
Usually yes. The apostille does not cancel the certificate. We send it for MEA attestation and then to the Kuwait Embassy, and it is checked first so you know before paying.
How long does Kuwait embassy attestation take?
It depends on the document and the embassy’s queue on the day. The Delhi stages are quick; the embassy stage takes longer. Your written quote carries the expected return date before the file starts.
Which documents need Kuwait embassy attestation?
Degrees, diplomas, marksheets and other educational certificates for a work visa; birth and marriage certificates for a family visa or Civil ID; experience certificates; police clearance certificates; and commercial papers such as Certificates of Origin, invoices, agency agreements and Power of Attorney.
How is a police clearance certificate attested for Kuwait?
A Passport Seva PCC does not need the notary or SDM stage. It goes straight to MEA attestation and then to the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi.
Is State HRD verification needed for Kuwait?
For most files the Delhi route (notary and SDM, then MEA) is what we use. If your employer’s checklist names State HRD or university verification, send us the checklist first and we will tell you what applies before you courier anything. We also arrange State HRD attestation for 16 States; see our HRD attestation page.
What happens after the Kuwait Embassy stamp?
Carry the originals to Kuwait. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait adds the final attestation there, usually arranged by you or your sponsor, and then the certificate can be used for the visa, residency, Civil ID or job file.
How do I check the status of my Kuwait embassy attestation?
We send you a WhatsApp update after each stage: the SDM, the MEA and the Kuwait Embassy. When the documents leave our office you get the courier tracking number. You can also call or WhatsApp +91-8595558517 with your name at any time to ask where your file is.
