A marriage certificate apostille in Uttar Pradesh is completed in New Delhi: notary, SDM attestation and then the MEA apostille. IGRS, Sub-Registrar and Nikahnama – which UP document gets the apostille
Since the Uttar Pradesh Marriage Registration Rules, 2017, marriages in the state are registered through the Stamp and Registration Department. Couples usually apply on the IGRS UP portal and complete the formalities at the Sub-Registrar's office; the certificate is then issued with a registration number that can be checked online.
That government certificate – printed or digitally signed – is the document MEA apostilles. A Nikahnama issued by a Qazi is a valid record of a Muslim marriage, but many foreign authorities and our own route work best when the marriage is also registered with the state. If you only have a Nikahnama, register it first and apostille the state certificate.
Court marriages under the Special Marriage Act are registered by the district Marriage Officer and apostilled in the same way.

- Keep the Nikahnama – it is the religious record of the marriage.

No. The UAE needs MEA attestation and UAE Embassy legalisation, followed by MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Do I need UP Home Department attestation?
