For a marriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan, the original is notarised, attested by the SDM in New Delhi and then apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). It takes about 2–3 working days once the certificate reaches Delhi, costs ₹1,000–₹1,500 plus courier, and is accepted in Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UK, Canada and every other Hague Convention country – but not in the UAE, Kuwait or Qatar, which need attestation.

Gram panchayat, municipality or Pehchan – what kind of certificate do you have?
Rajasthan made registration compulsory through the Rajasthan Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, 2009. Instead of one central office, the work is spread across thousands of local registrars: the gram panchayat in a village, the municipal board in a smaller town and the municipal corporation in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota or Bikaner.
That is why Rajasthan certificates look so different from one another. A certificate from a Shekhawati panchayat may be handwritten in Hindi with a round rubber seal; one issued in Jaipur in the last few years is usually printed from the state's Pehchan system with a registration number and verification details. MEA does not prefer one over the other – it needs a registrar's signature and seal (or a valid digital signature) that it can rely on.
Couples married under the Special Marriage Act – inter-faith couples, or marriages where one spouse is a foreign national – get their certificate from the district Marriage Officer. That certificate follows the same apostille route.
Before you post it: look for the registrar's seal and signature on a handwritten certificate, or the digital signature / QR code on a Pehchan printout. An unsigned screen printout is the one Rajasthan certificate MEA will not accept.
Gulf, Europe or Canada – is a marriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan enough?
Districts such as Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu and Nagaur send many workers to the Gulf, so most of our Rajasthan files are for a wife joining her husband there. The Gulf is split: some countries accept the apostille, others do not.
| Destination | What the certificate needs |
|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | ApostilleSaudi Arabia joined the Apostille Convention in December 2022 – no embassy stamp, no embassy fee. |
| Oman, Bahrain | ApostilleBoth are Convention members; the MEA apostille is the final step. |
| UAE, Kuwait, Qatar | AttestationNot Convention members – MEA attestation and then the embassy's legalisation in New Delhi. |
| UK, Canada, Australia, USA | ApostilleSpouse and partner visas, permanent residence, name changes. |
The Convention's member list is published by the Hague Conference (HCCH); we check your destination before the certificate leaves Rajasthan.

Three Rajasthan-specific problems we see every month
Hindi-only wording
The apostille is fine in Hindi. Abroad, a visa office usually wants it translated; we arrange the translation with the apostille.
Kanwar, Kunwar, Kumari
Name suffixes and fathers' names often differ between the certificate and the passport. Compare both before you post anything.
Faint panchayat seal
A smudged seal or a missing date can stall the SDM stage. A fresh certified copy from the panchayat solves it.
What to put in the courier envelope from Rajasthan
- Original marriage certificate – handwritten panchayat certificate or signed Pehchan printout. Never laminated.
- Husband's and wife's passport copies – first and last pages.
- A note with the destination country – Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK and so on – and your WhatsApp number.
We do not collect documents from your home. Send the envelope to INFINITYGRO, C-5 A/2, New Ashok Nagar, Delhi – 110096 by a tracked courier and keep the receipt. Take a photo of both sides of the certificate before sealing it.
Can you visit Delhi? You are welcome to hand over the original and collect it again at our office in New Ashok Nagar. If you are sending it from another state, courier it to us – once the work is complete we return it by Blue Dart or another reputed, fully tracked courier.
ChargesMarriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan: what it costs
One price covers the notary, the SDM attestation and the MEA apostille for one certificate. Courier from Rajasthan and back is billed at actual cost and depends on your pin code.
If the destination is the UAE, Kuwait or Qatar, embassy legalisation is needed instead; that embassy fee is quoted separately in writing.
A typical marriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan, day by day
Couples often ask for a date before they book a visa appointment. This is what a normal file from Jaipur or Sikar looks like when the certificate is in good order:
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | You WhatsApp a photo of the certificate; we confirm the route and the charge. |
| Day 1–3 | The original travels from Rajasthan to New Delhi by tracked courier. |
| Day 3–4 | Notary verification and SDM attestation in New Delhi. |
| Day 4–5 | The MEA apostille is fixed; we WhatsApp you a scan the same day. |
| Day 5–8 | The apostilled original reaches your Rajasthan address. |
Delays almost always come from the certificate itself – a faint panchayat seal, an unsigned Pehchan printout or a name that does not match the passport – which is why we check the photo before you post anything.

Marriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan – FAQs
Can a Pehchan portal marriage certificate be apostilled?
Yes, as long as the printout carries the registrar's digital signature or verification details. An unsigned printout is refused, so download the signed copy or get a certified copy from the registrar.
Is a gram panchayat marriage certificate valid for apostille?
Yes. Panchayat registrations are made by a Deputy Registrar under the Rajasthan Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, 2009, and are apostilled like any municipal certificate.
My husband works in Saudi Arabia. Do I need the Saudi embassy stamp too?
No. Saudi Arabia has been an Apostille Convention member since December 2022, so the MEA apostille alone is accepted.
He works in Kuwait or Dubai. Will an apostille do?
No. Kuwait and the UAE are outside the Convention. The certificate needs MEA attestation followed by the embassy's legalisation; we do both in New Delhi.
Do I need to travel to Jaipur or Delhi?
No. Courier the original from anywhere in Rajasthan and we send it back by tracked courier.
How long does a marriage certificate apostille in Rajasthan take?
About 2–3 working days for the Delhi stages, plus one to three days of courier each way.
