Accuracy

Getting Chinese translation right

  • Two writing systems. Traditional characters for Hong Kong and Taiwan look old-fashioned on the Mainland – we pick the right one.
  • Name order. Chinese family names come first; we keep that order and never “westernise” it on official records.
  • Company names. The registered Chinese name and its English trade name are both given, so banks can match them.
  • Numbers and units. 万 (ten thousand) and 亿 (hundred million) are converted carefully – a slip here changes a contract value.
  • Seals. Contracts are only valid with the company chop; we note each one and its wording.

Indian importers are the biggest users of our Chinese translation services – they need to read supplier licences, test reports and contracts before paying an advance. Medical graduates returning from China are the second group, and our Chinese translation services handle their degrees and transcripts in the format Indian authorities ask for.

For Indian companies opening an office in China, our Chinese translation services prepare the board resolution and power of attorney in Chinese alongside the MEA attestation and Chinese embassy legalisation.

Mainland China – registrations, visasChinese translation, often notarised; the Indian original with MEA attestation and Chinese embassy legalisation.
Hong Kong, MacauTraditional Chinese or English; apostille accepted.
TaiwanTraditional Chinese; Taiwan is not an apostille member, so legalisation rules differ – check first.

Certification

Plain, certified or notarised Chinese translation?

LevelWhat you receive
PlainA faithful translation in the same layout, without a declaration.
CertifiedSigned statement by the translator that the text is complete and correct, with INFINITYGRO's stamp.
NotarisedA notary attests the translator's statement – for offices that want legal confirmation.
With apostilleNotary, SDM and MEA stamps on the translation, or embassy legalisation for non-Hague countries.

For Mainland China, Indian documents are not apostilled: they need MEA attestation followed by legalisation at the Chinese embassy. Our Chinese translation services can deliver the translation and the legalised original together.
