PCC apostille in Gujarat: quick answer
PCC apostille in Gujarat is the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) apostille placed on a Police Clearance Certificate held by someone living in Gujarat. With it, a Hague Convention country accepts the PCC without any further embassy stamp. The MEA apostille is handled in Delhi, and you can courier the PCC from any district of the state instead of making the trip yourself.
A Passport Seva PCC issued by RPO Ahmedabad or RPO Surat goes directly to the MEA and is normally ready in 2–3 working days for Rs 1,000–1,500 all-inclusive. A PCC signed by a police station or a district SP office needs notary and SDM attestation in Delhi first, which we arrange, and costs a fixed Rs 1,500 for about 5–7 working days.
Who issued your PCC? Passport and police offices across Gujarat
Gujarat is split between two passport offices, and the signature on your PCC tells us which route it takes.
| Passport office PCC | Regional Passport Office Ahmedabad (most of the state, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Rajkot, Kutch and Saurashtra, plus Diu) and Regional Passport Office Surat (Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Dang and Narmada) |
|---|---|
| Passport Seva Kendras / POPSKs | Passport Seva Kendras in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat, Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in district towns such as Gandhinagar, Anand, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Navsari and Valsad |
| Police station / district police certificate | Your local police station or district SP office – a signed and sealed police clearance or character certificate |
| Living abroad | Gujaratis settled in the USA, the UK, Canada, East Africa or the Gulf obtain their PCC from the Indian Embassy or Consulate there, and it also goes straight to the MEA. |
What matters for a PCC from Gujarat
- Look at the issuing office printed on your Passport Seva PCC. Applicants from south Gujarat usually hold one from RPO Surat; the rest of the state, from Kutch to Panchmahals, gets it from RPO Ahmedabad.
- A character certificate from a police station in Kutch, Banaskantha or Saurashtra is often written wholly or partly in Gujarati. The MEA apostilles it as it is, and we can then arrange an English or destination-language translation.
- Gujarati names usually follow the order first name, father’s name, surname, sometimes with ‘bhai’ or ‘ben’ added. The PCC should show your name exactly as your passport does, without extra honorifics.
- When a whole family from Anand, Kheda or Mehsana moves abroad, each adult needs a separate PCC and a separate apostille. Check that every PCC is still within the three to six months most countries accept.
- Students and workers from Gujarat often need the PCC apostilled alongside a degree, a marriage certificate for a spouse visa or a birth certificate. Send them together and we track all of them as one order.
PCC apostille process for Gujarat: three routes
Every PCC held by a resident of Gujarat comes from one of three places, and the place decides the route to the MEA apostille.
Passport office PCC
Issued through Passport Seva by RPO Ahmedabad or RPO Surat. It goes straight to the MEA apostille, with no state step. Usually 2–3 working days after it reaches us.
Police station PCC
Signed by your local police station or district SP office. We get it notarised and attested by the SDM in Delhi, then apostilled by the MEA. Usually 5–7 working days.
Indian Embassy PCC
For residents of Gujarat now living abroad, the PCC issued by an Indian Embassy or Consulate goes straight to the MEA apostille. Usually 2–4 working days.

FAQs: PCC apostille in Gujarat
I live in Rajkot. Do I have to come to Delhi for the PCC apostille?
No. Courier the original PCC and a copy of your passport from Rajkot or any other part of Gujarat to our office in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi. We submit it for the MEA apostille and return it by Blue Dart or another secure courier, so no visit is needed.
How much do you charge for a PCC apostille in Gujarat?
A PCC issued by the passport office costs Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 in total, which covers the Rs 50 MEA fee, the bank draft and our service. A police station or SP office PCC costs a fixed Rs 1,500 because notary and SDM attestation are added. Courier charges are separate.
My PCC was issued by RPO Ahmedabad. How many days will the apostille take?
Once it reaches Delhi, a PCC from RPO Ahmedabad or RPO Surat normally takes 2 to 3 working days at the MEA. Allow two to four days for the courier from Gujarat and about the same again for the return journey.
Can a PCC from the SP office in Kutch be apostilled?
Yes. A certificate signed by a police station or the district SP office in Kutch, or anywhere else in Gujarat, is notarised and attested by the SDM in Delhi before the MEA apostille. We handle both steps. Expect about 5 to 7 working days and a fixed Rs 1,500.
Will INFINITYGRO get my PCC issued in Gujarat?
No. The PCC is issued by the passport office through Passport Seva or by your local police. We do not apply for it, follow up on police verification or speed it up. Our work starts only once you hold the original PCC.
The police certificate is in Gujarati. Do I need a translation?
The MEA apostille is placed on the certificate in whatever language it is written. Many embassies and employers then ask for an English or local-language translation. INFINITYGRO translates into any language, so the apostilled PCC and its translation can come back to you together.
My job offer is in Kuwait. Should I get my Gujarat PCC apostilled?
No. Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar do not accept an apostille. A PCC for these countries needs MEA attestation and then legalisation by that country’s embassy. For the UAE, MEA attestation and online UAE Embassy legalisation are now enough; UAE MOFA is no longer required.
My parents are in Ahmedabad and I have already moved to Canada. Can they send the PCC?
Yes. Your parents can courier the original PCC with a copy of your passport to our Delhi office. After the apostille we send it back to them in Ahmedabad or directly to your address in Canada, whichever suits you. Tell us the return address when you send it.
