Apostille for Ukraine

Ukraine was once one of the largest medical-study destinations for Indian students, and many still need documents for Ukrainian universities – to continue a course, obtain academic records, or settle family and business matters. Ukraine has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since 22 December 2003, so Indian public documents are authenticated with the MEA apostille. INFINITYGRO prepares the apostille for Ukraine in Delhi; please check current travel advice before any trip.

Quick answer

For an apostille for Ukraine, school and university documents are first verified by the board, state education department or university, civil certificates by the home department or SDM, and powers of attorney by a notary and SDM; the Ministry of External Affairs then adds the apostille. Ukrainian universities, notaries and registries accept it, normally with a notarised Ukrainian translation.

Ukraine embassy attestation is not needed – the apostille for Ukraine applies

Ukraine joined the Apostille Convention in 2003 and India in 2005, and the Convention applies between them. Ukrainian institutions therefore accept the MEA apostille without any stamp from the Ukrainian Embassy in New Delhi.

Many of our Ukraine files today involve powers of attorney – authorising a relative, lawyer or university representative in Ukraine to collect academic records, handle a transfer, or manage property – so the student does not need to travel.
