Medical certificate apostille: quick answer
Medical certificate apostille is the MEA apostille on a certificate signed by a doctor or hospital in India: a fitness certificate, a medical examination report, or a certificate about an illness or treatment. A private doctor’s signature is not on any government register the MEA can check, so the certificate is first notarised and then attested by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi.

What makes a medical certificate acceptable for apostille
The notary and the SDM refuse certificates that do not identify the doctor clearly. These are the points we check on the photo you send.

- Hospital or clinic letterhead with address
- Doctor’s name, qualification and registration number
- Doctor’s signature with a stamp or seal
- Your full name as in your passport, and your age or date of birth
- Date of examination and date of issue

Most receivers ask for a certificate issued in the last few weeks or months. Get it made shortly before you send it, not long in advance.

FAQs: Medical Certificate Apostille in India
Can a private doctor’s certificate be apostilled?
Yes. A certificate from a registered private doctor or hospital can be apostilled after it is notarised and attested by the SDM in Delhi. It should carry the doctor’s registration number, signature and seal so the notary can accept it.
How much does a medical certificate apostille cost?
Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per certificate in total. This covers the notary, the SDM attestation, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service. Courier is extra, and translation into another language is quoted separately.
How long does it take?
Normally 2 to 3 working days in Delhi after the certificate reaches us. Add courier time if you send it from another city. Tell us if your joining date is close so we can plan the submission.
Is this the same as medical degree apostille?

Can you arrange the medical test or the certificate?
No. INFINITYGRO does not arrange medical tests or issue medical certificates. Get the certificate from your doctor or hospital first, check the details listed on this page, and then send it to us for the apostille.
How old can the medical certificate be?
The apostille has no expiry, but the receiving office decides how recent the certificate must be. Many want it issued within the last few weeks or months. Check their instructions and get the certificate dated close to when you send it.
My medical report has several pages. Is it one document?
If the pages are one signed report, it is usually treated as one document. Separate lab reports with their own signatures count separately. Send us a photo of every page and we will confirm the count in writing.
Do I need a translation after the apostille?
If the receiving office works in another language, it may ask for one. INFINITYGRO translates into any language. The translation is usually done after the apostille so the receiver sees both the certificate and the sticker in its language.
